You are a legally able carry a concealed weapon.

You are driving down the road in your car. You are carrying your concealed weapon in a holster on your right hip with a shirt covering it. It’s approximately 11pm . It’s a road that is not in a populated area and the nearest town is about 3 miles away. There are no other vehicles, homes or dwellings in sight. There are two vehicles in front of you that suddenly stop. You are not able to proceed forward. In the vehicle in front of you (vehicle #1), you observe a person exit their vehicle and approach the vehicle in front of them (vehicle #2). You see that the person in vehicle 1 has a hand gun. He opens the door of vehicle 1 and you observe driver 1 pull out driver 2 forcefully. There is a struggle and you then observe driver 2 stand up and start kicking driver 1. Driver 1 is laying on the ground and you observe the handgun driver 1 was carrying laying on the road about 5 feet from each person. Driver 2 then returns to his vehicle and retrieves a tire iron and starts beating driver #1 in the head.

What exactly do you do from the time the vehicles stop. Provide DETAILS!

Call 911 Might be best to stay out of it sense you really don't know what started it and who the players are. Might be better off being a good witness. Don't be so eager to inject yourself in a situation.

Call 911, give good details as you are driving away and as Nightmare said, leaving crazy alone.

You have absolutely no idea what precipitated the situation and you butting in could find you with those two on you instead of what you were thinking, you "helping out" a "poor victim", who may not be a poor victim after all.

You have one responsibility, getting home alive to keep you and your family safe. Don't play hero.

Why is that a lot of first time posters have questions like this?

Before I started carrying, it never occurred to me to interfere with two people acting like that, and I certainly wouldn't do it now and raise the stakes with my firearm in the mix either.

Yep, call 911 and be ready to drive away quickly. Unfortunately probably already too late for someone hit in the head with a tire iron.

Newbie here - but definitely call 911...all that scenario reminds me of is the shooting in AZ of Gabby Giffords...there were two people there with guns; the guy who did all the shooting...and one other guy. One of the witnesses picked up the gun and had it aimed at the guy who did the shooting. Another guy was there and had a gun...he kept his cool and waited to see what exactly was going on. If he went all in, he would have shot the innocent guy who took down the guy who had stopped the guy from causing any further bloodshed.

I would call 911 give them all info and my description then I would exit my vehicle and order driver #2 to drop his weapon. Witnessing a homicide and doing nothing else would go against my prior LEO training.

Reverse and call 911. Having a firearm on me doesn't change what I would do.

Where you the witness to such event, or, are you trying to bait us?

Unless life or limb of a loved one or myself are in danger, my firearm will remain holstered, and beyond calling 911, I will not get involved. Neither am I LEO, nor do I have the training due defuse such situation. Besides, as of late, too many LEO are mistakenly shooting law abiding citizens.

I carry a gun to defend myself and my family. I constantly go over the 4 gun safety rules with my boys. Rule #4 is to be sure of your target and what is behind it. In this situation I can't be sure of my target so I'm not going to get involved. The person being pulled from their car has the freedom to carry a gun just like I do and for whatever reason they chose not to do so. They decided to take a hands off approach to their safety so I will let them live or die with that decision; it's not my life. If I were to get involved I could end up dead, in jail, injured or be a hero there are too many variables involved and too many bad scenarios awaiting me if I get involved.

Driver 2 is an idiot. Why did he stop? If he's looking for or expecting a confrontation with driver 1 why is he not paying attention? Did he not see that driver 1 exited his vehicle with a gun? At that point common sense says Driver 2 burns the tires off leaving, calls 911 and/or does not stop until he reaches the nearest police station if driver 1 persists in following.

Call 911. Give the dispatcher location, tag numbers, make, model and color of cars and any outstanding things. (Bumper stickers, decals, damage and such) Descriptions of people, clothing and such. Back away and hope I'm not violating any "Good Samaritan" laws.

call 911 return home to my kids.....driver 2 should ccw as we do

Exactly why I do not have the sheep dog mentality. The Second Amendment applies to everybody. If some clown does not value his own life enough to arm himself, why should I risk mine helping him?

I would stop 30 to 50 feet behind the cars I would call 911 and tell them where I was and what was going on give as much info as I can and when I see driver 2 with the tire iron and start to hit driver 1... I would open my car door and step out of the car staying behind the car door for cover and yell at driver 2 to stop and tell him the cops are on the way. if driver 2 stops and gets in his car and takes off. I inform the dispatcher direction of travel and see If I can render aid to driver 1... and driver 2 is the cops problem.
But if driver 2 comes towards me with or without a weapon I warn him and if he keeps coming . I'll drop him right there. He'll have a weapon by the time the cops show up. and if he didn't stop hitting the first driver after I told him too. and was going to hit driver 1 again with the tire iron I would put two slug's in him before he could hit the driver again. .....

Tuff question, do you engage for the safety of driver #2, which most states authorize engagement while visibly seeing a fatal or possibly near fatal event in front of you. Or do you retreat, call it in and fade out into the darkness. I didn't really hear you point of view, please expound on your ideas.

I see why people would call 911 and either get out of there or be a good witness, that's a good general rule...but even though I'm not a LEO, I'm not sure I could sit there and watch a homicide.
