i'm new to this site hoping as all of you to win the concealed carry giveaway
i am planning to get certified with concealed weapon permit at the next fort lauderdale gun show coming up in may
i've wanted to do this for a long time now and finally getting around to making it happen being a single woman in my 50s and robberies up almost 80% in my city
i have a browning .380 BDA and got somewhat familiar with it at a range a few times years ago and know i need more range time to feel more comfortable using firearms before i actually carry one
so i joined this group to gather as much information i can to expand my knowledge on safely using and carrying a firearm for self defense. hopefully i will never have to use it but this day and age carrying a gun and knowing how to use it effectively may one day save me from violent attack although i do try to stay out of dangerous areas and situations one never knows when some nut will be trying to harm rob or rape in my home or out in public.....
the course at the gun show is only two hours which i will do but still i think perhaps taking other classes at a range would behoove me as well before i actually carry on regular bases
and checking into prices on that as well as guns ammo and all the other paraphernalia that goes with safe concealment that is needed also is quite expensive

i have researched many holster styles and the one i think would be best for me is just like the one in the giveaway a supertuck.
i'm thinking it might hold the 380 good and snug and secure here is a link i found one on. seems a bit pricey but it is i think exactly what i am looking for for the kind of defense weapon i have Link Removed
i didn't see an introductory thread in this forum so i just posted here as the test the instructor post caught my eye and piqued my interest about possible malfunctions and how to handle them which is another thing i need to familiarize myself with
be safe and well i'm going to peruse the forum looking for tid bits of info i can use and keep in my mind as soon i will be concealed weapon carrier:girl_wink:

Your questions are too vague and leave the possibility of far too many answers. They either need to be more focused or offer multiple choices. For example, in question 1, all the following answers are possible: concealed, loaded, "cocked and locked", holstered, legal in your state, out of reach of children, familiar to the user, in proper working order, the largest caliber you can comfortably shoot, a reputable brand, loaded with legal and effective ammunition, not overly modified, in the company of your state-issued permit.

I'm a little late to the party but I enjoyed this thread. Some of these questions are a bit vague and there may be several correct answers that may not be exactly what the OP had in mind but that's fine. For example I noticed for #8 that nobody mentioned Hang fire, Squib, or Bullet Setback. Also reasons for revocation will vary greatly by state. I can carry in bars here and that would be a felony in other states.

I am not so sure that the answers are so vague. This wasn't meant to be right or wrong but to make you think when carrying. Its funny how the people that did play had the bulk of the answers the same. Maybe different wording. And I would almost bet that every state pulls permits for the same reasons that I have posted as the answer. I am sure that everyone knows that their responsibility when carrying is to be in control of your firearm. I am sure everyone knows that a holster must have proper retention. When you think about it, these answers are obvious. As an Instructor, my goal was to make folks think when you are carrying a gun.

How about "because the chief of police said so" for a reason for revocation? Does that apply in your state? It certainly does here.....

Rich, no not in Florida, But this is where we differ. I bet money, IF you have a permit in your state, all three of the reasons I posted count in your state.

There are certain laws that are applicable to every state that issues CCW. The test was based on CCW and the questions were well thought out so that they applied to any state that had CCW permits. And I only asked for three out of four, so you may have some law in your state that we don't. There was a place for it.
