CCW Badge Sighted In The Wild

Apparently this doof felt the need to shoot someone's dog and to flash his CCW badge at the news crew afterwards

In all seriousness his credability went to zero as soon as I saw that badge. I know the witnesses all see it his way but I have to wonder (because he was dumb enough to buy that badge and they are not cheap) if he really wasn't waiting for his chance

I probably would have done the same thing, without the badge. The permit itself is my badge, but i don't want it hanging from my belt. Having that badge on his belt, I do believe he is asking for trouble. Too many "what ifs" and mistaken identity issues with a badge. Badges are for cops and scouts.

dangit.. "LaValley said" and since he did and he apparently has the all important word; he was not justified. thanks LaValley.
4 dogs to my name so far, they chase deer during rifle season and extermination is imperative.

And do not even think about calling me a dog or animal hater, ive had the pleasure of raising my black lab to the current age of 6 and love him dearly.

I understand him being a "doof" for the badge but for firing??? Your dogs come and bite me or mine and yes, I shoot your dogs. I might try and pull off one dog, but 3 get shot.

I think Mr Lewis acted in a responsible manner. The shooting was justified. He was protecting his personal property from deadly force. In PA he would have got a pat on the back....this was a good example of why cc is a good thing.

I have seen these bages for sale, It looks to me like a bad idea... Cop wanabe stuff... The whole idea is just asking for trouble.. Not that I don't support the guys right to carry his bage if he wants to, but it is one potential headach I would prefer to avoid...
Glad all survived....

I agree with ALL of you! If you noticed he had that badge on his belt, like he is "authorized" to carry that firearm under that shield. WRONG!! That is not a "Badge of Authority" and wearing it, is impersonating! Like the other poster said, if you CC why show it? If you open carry with it, then you are a nut! You are better off wearing your CCW lic. around your neck, since that is more legal than the toys r us badge.

If they wanted you to carry a badge then the sheriffs dept should have them engraved with your permit information and present it to you at the CCW banner beauty pageant.

I look at more than just a badge to determine if someone is a LEO. For instance if some stranger flashed a shiny badge and a nickel plated sissy pistol, I would know he is full of crap and call 911, time to get the real police involved.

On the other hand, some guy jumping out of a marked squad car, carrying a gun 'while' wearing short shorts and rockin' an 80's mustache is most definitely the police.

How about a guy who jumps out of his crusier and runs to your car wearing his boxer shorts. holding his badge out in one hand and his pistol in the other.... True story.... He was an off duty cop in the neighborhood, we were the goofy trouble making teenagers, and let me tell you, he was Pissed!!!!!!!!!!

I was listening to a talk show host this am and he stated that he has a badge that he has carried around his neck. The purpose is to pull it to the outside of his shirt in the aftermath of using his weapon in order to identify himself as a non perpetrator.

I assume this would be after he has holstered or dropped his weapon.

....snipped for brevity....

That's not "short shorts". :fie: For us Aussies, "short-shorts" means jersey ones that really hugs the butt. And we women really loves them.:biggrin::biggrin:

I don't care about "no stinkin" badge. He's a hero for being prepared and protecting his four legged friend. Everything else is fluff.

Nuff' said!!
