Gentleman
I have looked and cannot seem to find a comprehensive yet understandable artical on what exactly our rights are under the Texas Castle Doctrine.
I have many friends who want to keep a firearm in the glove box on the way to and from work but i'm not as versed as I should be.
Thanks

if someone is in your home his intentions under the law can be viewed as dangerous to you and since the intruder is a threat to you in your home you are permitted to use deadly force to end the threat to your safety

The Motorist Protection Act allows you to keep a gun in your vehicle. The gun needs to be concealed so it can't be seen in plain sight. It can be loaded and within reach of the driver. I would recommend getting a small safe/vault for under the seat to store a firearm in. When you get in your car take it out of the safe so it is accessible but out of sight. Then when you have to leave lock it up in the safe. I like having more than just a piece of glass between my gun and a thief.

you do realize that this is a nation/international forum, what motorist protection act are you referring to? there is nothing like that in FLA

Are you trying to imply that there are things of importance outside the great state of Texas???

I'm well aware that this is a national/international forum. If you would read the original question he is asking about the "Texas Castle Doctrine" and carrying a gun in your car. I just assumed recondobilly is not dumb enough to try and use the Texas Castle Doctrine to justify carrying a gun in your car in some other state. To me it is clear he is specifically asking about carrying a gun in your car in Texas not somewhere else. I could be wrong; it happened once and could happen again.
