Carry in a school question

The Kentucky Carry site states the following as a prohibited place to carry:
8. Elementary or secondary school facilities (without the consent of school authorities).

What does this mean? Consent of school authorities? What about KRS 527.070?

I called the state and they didn't know about the consent of school authorities part. They took the same old position, consult an attorney.

Does anyone have any further information on this? The state rep I spoke with started into some sort of what was the intent when the phrase was written. Can't we get simple and clear postions and language for the laws written?

Thanks,

Unless you can get written premission from the school board,( and that has to be for a perticular school.) don't carry in a school...period.

Why would you want to do that? Schools are gun free zones and therefor inherently safe! Sorry, that's just no guns in school Ohio jealousy talking.

Why would you want to carry on school grounds the federal gun free zone makes those place 100% safe from gun violance. NOT.

According to KRS 527.070(1), the "no guns on school property" rule is null and void for postsecondary & higher learning facilities. As for elementary, daycare centers and other place covered by GFSZ, it is technically illegal to even cross within 2000 feet of the outer edge of their respective property UNLESS YOU HAVE A CCDW. The CCDW will ONLY allow you to cross within 2000 feet of the facilities. As for carrying on postsecondary & higher learning facilities, those places tend to make up their own policies and rules.
