Is a glock 26 a good carry gun?

A Glock 26 is an execellant CCW. The only changes I have made are the sights, I went with Trijicon night sights, and a CT lazer. When I carry mine i have the 10 round mag in the gun and a G-17mag as a spare. If you havent made up your mind yet I would suggest looking at the Glock 19 as well as the G-26.

Yes. You can carry the Glock 26 multiple ways. I jave seen your normal belt holster, IWB, shoulder holster and ankle holster for the G26. It is all on how you want to carry the firearm.

If you are concerned about the caliber. Don't be. 9mm is a great caliber and has plenty of "stopping power." Just make sure you have some good hollow points.

My G26 is my default carry firearm. I always have extra mags for the G26, incase 11 (10+1) is not enough.

I carry a G26 everyday all day, it is a great weapon for CCW, I load it with Speer Gold Dot 124 +p HP

I highly recommend the G26!

Yes it is!!!! I can pocket carry if needed, probably not the best for that, but with a good IWB holster (I used a Galco Kingtuk) it is great and I feel very secure with it.

I carry one everyday, it's a great, reliable, easy to conceal gun. I got use to shooting it very quick, I added an extender on the mag since I have bigger hands and that helped with control since it is lite weight and will tend to jump a little. I also have a lasermax guide rod laser sight and night sights. If you like shooting it, you can't go wrong with it.

At the risk of being overly helpful, let me simply say "yes, a Glock 26 will do just fine."

If you are still up in the air about carrying options, equipment, and best practices, I wrote Link Removed article about carrying concealed a few months back. The second part gives tips on firearm selection.

Kind regards,

- SB

you can find it under $600. more in the $500~$550 range. depending on where you live. my advice is look into springfield XD sumcompacts. i carry the .40. smaller than the glock and can take a beating.

I give it 2 thumbs up, belt side, with a Lasermax, topped off with blue tip safety slugs. I can honestly say nothing bad about it and a few thousand words positive. I always tell people to try it before you buy it, what works for some doesn't always work for all. Some ranges rent equipment, so you should test a few before you commit, put the Glock high on your list of ones to try, you won't regret it!

You said that the XD subcompact is 'smaller' than the Glock 27??
I have to disagree.
Let's see what Hickok45 has to say about that with his ~side by side~ comparison video.

When I am asked this question, my response is go to the G27 - it's the exact same size, you only lose 1 round in the magazine, and it's a noticeable increase in ballistics.
Then of course, I prefer lots of caliber. Hence, the G30sf is my choice.
