Does anyone carry a FN 5.7 as a CCW?

I and two friends recently purchased the 57. I am not a 24/7 CCer but I and at least one of the other two have purchased CC holsters for same. Cannot speak for their potential to CC but I can say that I purchased it for all the qualities that make it a perfect choice for me. Lightweight (for a full size), high capacity, very accurate at longer distances due to ammo configuration, lo recoil, and lethality (you can buy (with difficulty) designer ammo for this firearm that will penetrate body armor if you are so inclined). My use is for home defense (designer ammo with extreme velocity and frangibilty)--as I said, I am not a 24/7 CCer but I have CC'd with it. Hey, if it is good enough for drug dealers (they may be scum but they do know something about the bad bad world), secret service and a host of current and retired LEOs and military types it says something about it.

Very poor terminal ballistics

The cartridge was designed solely to defeat soft body armor and while it does that it has poor soft tissue performance.

We agree to disagree. If anyone wants ballistics information and examples (picture of gel/animal tests) go to the FN57 forum or the FiveSeven forum for informed information that will dispute your comment, which is more an urban legend than an actual fact. The credentials of many of the contributors are, as I said before, retired or active LEO and military who can easily dispute your blanket comment. There are a series of designer ammunition configurations that can easily dispute any concern.
