I just need to make sure that still applies as my wife has not gotten her FL. CCW license yet.

Thanks for any and all info

it's my understanding you can carry in your glovebox or any closed container in your vehicle without a permit
but double check that to make sure

The book is worth every penny! It cover's a wide range of issues on Fl. law as it is used in a practical sense. So buy it you will not regret it.

Yes she can carry in her glove compartment, but thats it!!!! The book mentioned in this thread is an excellent read.

It can also be carried, really, any place in the car if its in a secure container. A secure container is defined by Florida statute as a holster, zippered gun pouch, gun box (like the one it came in from the factory), glove box, or center console. A great web site that I use regularly is Link Removed

It is lawfull to carry a handgun in the passenger compartment of a motor vehicle in Florida without a license IF it is concealed, securely encased and otherwise not readily accessible for immediate use. All three definitions can be found in F.S. 79.001; Definitions.

However. Nothing in the statute prohibits the carrying of a legal firearm OTHER than a handgun ANYWHERE in the passenger compartment of the vehicle if the firearms is beng carried for a lawful purpose like self defense. God Bless America!!!
