I work for the State of Nevada in a facility that has no metal detectors, so by law I can carry concealed at work with a permit (which arrived 2 weeks ago). I will get in trouble if my gun gets exposed at work. My boss HATES that I carry but can't stop it unless someone sees it. The only reason he knows is an agency policy that says we must sign a form saying we have a permit and acknowledge the agency is not liable. Nevada Revised Statute says a permit is confidential information. http:// http://www.leg.state.nv.us/NRS/NRS-202.html#NRS202Sec3662
I argued with HR that the policy violates state law by forcing me to disclose it. Turns out it was my wife and an AG rep who wrote the policy long before I applied for my permit and I think the two women don't want to have it reviewed by a higher authority and get in trouble for an illegal policy. I can't win this argument either way and besides, the boss already knows.
Should I continue the fight on behalf of the next guy?
