Call 911, then wait for the cops to respond whenever they 'feel like it'....WTF?

A group of Miami-Dade police officers was disciplined following a 2010 internal affairs investigation, police documents showed.
Five police officers and one sergeant with the Kendall squad were allegedly caught on camera ignoring emergency dispatch calls.
The video, obtained by NBC 6 South Florida, shows incidents like one on Oct. 5, 2010 where Officer Dario Socarras apparently ignored a residential burglary call and chose to meet a woman at the Dadeland Mall parking lot.
The video shows the officer hugging and kissing the woman in what the police investigation calls a public display of affection.
That is classified as departmental misconduct or conduct unbecoming of an officer, according to police.
A little later that day, Officer Socarras, Officer Jose Huerta and their Sergeant Jennifer Gonzalez were videotaped drinking coffee at a Casa Larios when an emergency call came in with an alert about an unconscious 5-month-old, police said in investigation records obtained by NBC 6.
Socarras was dispatched to the scene and despite being with his sergeant, he continued drinking his coffee. Nine minutes later he was cleared from the call, according to police.

I have seen firsthand, numerous police officers within the LAPD (Latino Americano Polizia Departemento) doing exactly the same things. There are still some good cops out there, but it's the bad apples that rot the entire barrel imho.

Over Christmas was keeping an eye on neighbors home, she called and said her alarm had gone off, the police were called and would I please check the home. Took the key walked down to home and looked it over from outside and waited on police, 1 hour and 45 minutes later the officer arrived statement "we were busy" this is why I carry a gun if they are busy I am not.

We just had an incident here in Vegas two days ago. A 79 year old man called 911 and declared that burglars were breaking into his home. He told 911 that he was going to his bedroom with a gun. When the intruders entered his bedroom, he fired one shot...killing one. As the others fled, the driver ran into a Las Vegas Metro cruiser who was responding to the call.

LV Metro is pretty good about responding. However, as my bumper sticker says: "9mm Beats 911 Every Tme."

I have zero positive expectation from LEAs. Then, whenever a positive experience randomly occurs, I can say something good.
1. no matter how you cut it, all law enforcement is government - government is the Petri dish for all social experimentation and engineering involving minorities, empowering minorities, enriching those whose qualifications and skills are substandard and non-competitive in the private sector
2. form over substance, i.e., politics over productivity - the only conditions under which parasitic labor unions can thrive

Miami-Dade County Law Enforcement........I won't begin to say that all are bad but it's a good damn bet that more than half are. I lived there for 2 years back in the late 90's. Hated every minute of it. The job I was working on we had many if not all of the local Highway Patrol Troop on the payroll for traffic control at one time or another so we got to know a lot of them. All seemed to be straight up and by the book. Miami City Cops leave a lot to be desired. We had a two year project on I-95 doing road repairs and on the very first night the job started we were setting the concrete barriers to close of the lanes that were to be reconstructed and around 1:00 AM I was shot at, heard the shot and saw the muzzle flash. Cops arrived at 6:00 AM that morning to take a report and I and remainder of the supervisory team were told we might want to look into bullet proof vests. NO ****. That wasn't written into our contract. That's why we hired the Florida Highway Patrol and any off duty FHP officer that wanted to work. There were a few more gun related instances but soon after there was a State Trooper withing 100 feet of the work areas. It did calm down afterwards but no one ever trusted the local LEO'S.

How many court cases have justified this? It's why I carry my own gun.

it's not how many courts, it is which courts, and the one that counts is the supreme court which has ruled that the cops are not obliged to protect anyone, if they can they probably would but you cannot expect them to respond to a 911 call for help

Cops do not carry sidearms to protect me or my family....Cops carry sidearms to protect 'themselves'.
When seconds count, the police are too many minutes away.
Why do I carry a sidearm? Because a cop is way too heavy.

Yeah, I like that.
Remember LEO is gathering evidence against everyone.
