buying on-line or from a store

another thing i usually do is if i can find it online for cheaper (w/ taking FFL and shipping into account), i'll see what the local can do to compare. usually they'll play ball.

Just bought my 1st gun online from Budsgunshop.com. I also did it on a 9o day layaway cash discount. I received the handgun today at my dealer free shipping . I asked the dealer if I got a good deal and his answer was yes and below msrp , and the availability . he said some are to get or find. All in all I would do again, If dealer doesn't or cant find. Budsgunshop highly recommended .

Pay for the service. Until you know handguns, and know exactly what you want buying online will NOT save you anything. always buy your first firearms from a reputable dealer who is more concerned about making you a satisfied and educated repeat customer. Online purchases of firearms are for two classes of people, Experts and Fools. Don't be a fool. Find a good dealer who will help you become an expert. I have almost 50 years of firearm experience... the only firearms I buy online are those makes and models I know intimately.

If you are buying your first firearm, first hand gun or just adding to a collection, buying from a local shop with or without the extra warranty is a much better choice than purchasing online. Not only will you be able to ask any questions you may have face to face with someone knowledgeable about the gun, but you never know if, when ordering online, it is in perfect working order. Can you safely assemble and disassemble the firearm yourself? Do you know by looking at this gun if there is a manufacturing defect that could be dangerous? Also, consider if something does go wrong with the weapon, maybe as simple as a jam, can you safely, with confidence repair the gun yourself? Whether you have used and are familiar with the weapon or not, I feel it would be in your best interest to buy from a local shop. If the price difference is substantial, ask yourself why. Even if you do decide to purchase online, I would recommend taking the firearm to a local gunsmith to inspect before firing the weapon, for safety's sake.
