Buying Ammo over the Internet

Hi,
At a recent meeting at our club, there was a mention that it may be OK in New York State for internet purchase of ammo. Any news about this?

Unless something has changed very recently, online sales to NY addresses is still illegal. The only thing that has changed of late that I know is the state has given even less commitment to the idea of establishing background checks for (in state) ammo sales.

I buy from Target Sports regularly and have it delivered to a NY address. I have had no issue. I do not believe that there is a law prohibiting this. I was advised to do this by an instructor and legal expert.
