Buy American?

The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) does not pretend to represent anything related to wrestling. Titan Sports, owned by Vince McMahon, did coopt the use of their trademark WWF for some time. However after a trademark infringment lawsuit by the WWF, Titan Sports had to stop using the trademark and renamed their organization the WWE.

You SAY that, but I see those pandas rolling around grappling each other all the time. Also, I'm pretty sure those big cats are using regulation choke holds on the gazelles.

That may very well be true. The point being is both are a total joke. NASCAR was great back in the day when it represented cars you could actually go into the showroom and actually BUY. That is where they got the phrase, "Win on Sunday, and sell on Monday." Yes, the cars were very heavily modified, but they were based on a stock frame, stock bodied, production vehicle. In fact there had to be at least 500 production vehicles sold to the general public, and licensed on the street, before NASCAR would allow them to be raced. This was to prevent specialty vehicles from appearing out of nowhere with an unfair advantage.

Today these cars represent nothing of what is currently avaliable on the showroom floor, and haven't for years. And the funny part is on the super speedways like Daytona and Talladega they actually lap slower than the actual "Stock Cars" did 40 years earlier. The pole speed at the 1969 Talladega 500 was 196.386 MPH. In 2011 at Daytona it was 186.089 mph.

Tubular chassis's, high RPM dry sump racing engines, along with more aerodynamics than a F-18 has netted a 10 MPH decrease in performance. Some say it is "in the interest of safety", etc. When Bill France built Talladega he designed it for speeds over 200 MPH because he knew that was the direction the sport was headed, and where the fans wanted it to go.

Today's NASCAR "fans" wouldn't know a good race if they saw one. Most go to get drunk, see a good wreck, and eyeball girls with big tits in short pants. There is nothing wrong with any of this mind you. Hell, this nation was practically built on fast cars, big tits, and beer. Just don't try to sell it to me as "racing". It's an "Event". Much like the WWF or WWE, or whatever they're calling themselves these days. Bill T.
