What do y'all think of businesses that post their "NO FIREARMS ON PREMISIS" signs on their doors or windows? Do you do business with them? I have been asked to leave two businesses in the past because I had a pistol concealed, even after I showed the management my CCL. An FBI friend of mine told me several years back that those businesses are just asking to be robbed by informing lowlifes that they can most likely get away with a robbery in their businesses by posting this sign. I did a research of the robberies in my local area for the last four years and 90% of them took place in businesses that have these signs up. The restraunt I use to work at had one up, but after getting hit twice in three months last year, I noticed that the sign has now been removed from the door, even though it's still company policy not to allow firearms on the premisis. I guess the lowlifes that robbed the store (a cashier told me she thought it was the same individual both times!) either didn't care about that policy, or couldn't read the sign!

Are you aware that you started two seperate threads with the exact same title/post? Also, there is a VERY lengthy discussion about gun-buster signs over in "Businesses against firearms and the 2nd amendment/no guns allowed signs" if you care to join in over there. Just a suggestion.

Merry Christmas!

I'm wondering how these two managers who kicked you out of their establishments knew that you were carrying a concealed weapon. They never know when I'm concealed.

Those businesses ARE asking for a robery. Where I carry , we can ignore the sign unless it contains very specific wording in accorane with state law. I ignore the NO GUNS signs unless properly worded, and have never had any trouble. The GOVERNMENT of our state, and others, too, I imagine, need to realize that a NO GUN ZONE is an invitation for trouble. A prime example of this is the July theater shooting in Colorado.

In answer to your question, if a business has a properly worded sign prohibiting lawful carry, I will shop elsewhere.

Don't have any around where I live. Never been asked to leave. Been encouraged to keep open carrying in some of the places I've visited.

If I did see a sign, I would not shop there.

I would probably choose to shop elsewhere. I say "probably" because if there weren't an alternative available within reasonable distance I might decide to shop there anyway. In that case though, I'd disarm before going in.

I try not to support businesses that don't allow carry on the premises.

first off if you were carrying concealed how did anyone know you were carrying?
in some states those signs have the backing of the law, so before anyone goes out an ignores any no gun signs, please know the laws that are in place where you are

In Florida, the signs mean NOTHING unless they are one of the prohibited places by law. Businesses can post the signs, but I can choose to ignore them if I wish... worst they could do if they found out I was carrying concealed is tell me to leave... if I didn't, they could have me trespassed.

With that being said, I avoid places that have signs taking away my right to exercise my rights and protect myself.

Buffalo Wild Wings was a place that had a sign, so I didn't go there and spend money. Went there to meet some friends years later and the sign was gone... not sure if their policy changed or if they determined it did no good.
