Bulk Ammo

Anybody know any good internet sources for bulk ammo?
It would be for the range so I'm not to particular, even Military Ballistics Industries or BVAC re-manufactured would do at a good price

Basically, I'll be looking for 1000 round each of
38 Special
40 S&W
and depending on what the wife eventually gets either
9mm or 380 acp

The Wal Mart I go to has Remmington fmj in 250 count boxes in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45acp calibers.
For 9mm they have federal fmj 50 box for $10. It's not bulk, but it's pretty cheap.

The Cabella's near me had just every brand in every size, but I'm guessing a better deal may be found on line.

I don't know how the rest of the country is faring ammo-wise, but the Wal Mart near me in eastern Pennsylvania has been well stocked for the past few weeks, which beats 2009, when I could barely find 9mm, and never find 380 there!

Wally world is kind of light on stock here. Some 40 S&W. 1 or 2 boxes of Winchester 38 spl which I buy when I see & No 357 mag. 9mm is plentiful & cheap

Now that my wife has her CCW and a new Glock 19 (I carry a Glock 23), I am starting to get into reloading. Once you have your brass, it's 50% of retail to load a box of 50 and not that difficult.

Only draw back to that is if you take a lot of training classes a year. Most will not allow reloads to be used in the training class.

Why is that?
I use to shoot wad reloads back in Jersey but I can't find them here in Virginia. I just bought a Nickle 357 Windicator and the manual even says no reloads. What is the detrimental difference between reloads & factory ammo & how would anyone know what you are shooting?

All I know is most of the major training places in and around New Enqland will not allow them to be used. Sig Academy,Vermont Tactical, Belmont firearms(for classes only you can use them at the range) even some NRA classes will not allow them. I would think it has something to do with past experience of fist time reloaders making the rounds to hot. Or just for the simple fact that they want you to buy ammo from them(I doubt thats it, because you can use any factory ammo. Does not have to be from them you just get a discount.) Again I'm talking about the major ones in and round NE I may have left some out. Not sure if front sight and the other major training sites allow them or not.

That would make sense. Major ammo manufactures are presumed to adhere to strict QC standard and hand loaders may, intentionally or accidentally, make hot loads. I'm sure that's why EAA puts that warranty void statement in their manual.

I picked up Winchester white box .45 JHP box of 50 at Walmart a week ago for $19.97 + tax
For Bulk, I always look at Georgia Arms - http://www.georgia-arms.com - I have bought from them numerous times and no problems. I don't reload.

+ 1 for Ga arms. Hi everyone I am new to USA Carry and I am really enjoying all the fantastic info and knowledge here. In fact, this is my first post. I would just like to ad that I live near Ga arms which are located in Villa Rica Ga and there ammo is first rate. They are backordered right now on some stuff but the deals they have on the bulk caned heat deals is awsome. Not reloads but brand new stuff usually in new starline brass. Top quality sporting and self defense ammo too.

There are a number of sites I check on a regular basis for good deals on range ammo.

The-Armory.com
Lucky Gunner
Cheaper Than Dirt
Natchez Shooters
Ammunition To Go

I go through 500-600 rounds a month and these sites usually have a good deal on whatever I'm looking for at the moment. I've also used LTD Ammo but their customer service leaves a little to be desired. 3 times now I've had to ask them "where's my order". Bought 500 rounds of .308 from them more than 2 weeks ago and still haven't gotten it. Waiting for a response. The sites I listed above have very good turn-around times. They almost always ship the next day at the latest.

Yes, I've had good luck with GA Arms and like you buy canned heat new - delivery usually in less than a week. And again yes, I think the trick is to buy when you see it available, and price at bulk levels is right in there.
