Buffalo News has submitted a FOIL request to get Pistol Permit Records!!!

On the news tonight. County clerk (I think that's who was speaking) says they do not intend to release the info. Apparently there is some sort of 4 month moratorium that was included in the new gun law. At least one of the Erie County legislators is planning to submit legislation to block it at the county level.

The TV news said that the Buffalo News (paper) told them they did not intend to publish the info. They want the info in the case of a shooting to allegedly look up info on whether the perp has a permit or something like that.

We need to let them know that if they pursue this, A LOT of people will be canceling subscriptions!!!

I believe the new bill blocks the info for 120 days as you said, and I guess this is to give new legislation a chance to get through. I hope.

Contact Buffalo News re cancellation of subscription if they pursue FOIL request

I recommend that anyone who is a subscriber to the Buffalo News, send an email to the individuals listed on the following website page Link Removed.

Here is a copy of the message I sent:

Please be advised that if the Buffalo News continues to pursue its request for the list of Pistol Permit holders in Erie County, I and MANY OTHER law abiding gun owners and subscribers of the Buffalo News, WILL CANEL OUR SUBSCRIPTIONS! We will also encourage all family and friends to also cancel their subscriptions!​

Pre-emptive strike. Let them know who they are dealing with. Money seems to be the only thing these people understand. They certainly do not understand common sense.
