Buffalo Bore ammo

Has anyone tried Buffalo Bore ammo? Ive been using hydra shocks in my carry gun, nothing wrong with them by the way, just wanted to see if I could sqeeze a little more horse power out of some + p .45. I reload for just about every thing, but my carry gun, dont want any legal issues if I were to have to use it.

Haven't tried it but haven't heard anything negative about it. There are a few folks in here that use it. How heavy a pellet are you shooting from your .45? How long is the barrel? Just curious... You may want to check out the offerings from Cor-Bon and Doubletap Ammunition as well.

I use Buffalo Bore ammo in my 10mm( 180gr., JHP(1350 fps/782 ft. lb)) This stuff is red hot and the muzzle flash will light up the midnight sky and the gun kicks straight up!:biggrin:

I paid $26.99 for a box of 20:wacko: I spare no expense for my local bad guy!

My carry gun is an XD .45 with a 4 in. barrel and I shoot 230gr. bullets. I usually always try to use the heaviest gr. bullet available in pistol calibers, even when I reload. Ive experienced excellent accurracy with heavier bullets of all shapes and design. Im into large hunting handguns and have been for some time now and from my experience big bullets moving even at moderate speeds knock deer off thier feet, so I figure the same true for two legged critters. Muzzle blast and recoil are though more severe with heavier bullets.

Love the 10mm!! It is a beast of a round and it blows the hell out of water jugs!!:biggrin: It is costly to shoot though. It can get very expensive very fast when shooting factory ammo. If you like the 10mm, learn to reload!

Love the 10mm!! It is a beast of a round and it blows the hell out of water jugs!!:biggrin: It is costly to shoot though. It can get very expensive very fast when shooting factory ammo. If you like the 10mm, learn to reload!

The price will come down in time, but for now, I can get factory for about .52 a pop, which I don't consider too bad for all the fun you can get out of it.

I use the Heavy .38 Special 158gr. load in my snubbies....it is pretty stout, but if you have Hogue or Pachmayr stocks.....they will soak up the recoil quite well.

I use their hard cast loads in my .41 Mag and my .357 Mag when in the woods. Then again those are not meant for two legged critters, a hollow point defense round is better for that. It's reliable and puts out some recoil. I don't and wouldn't use it in my semi-autos around town, better less expensive choices for that.

I like Buffalo Bore Ammo for my 44 mag or Heavy 45 Colt revolvers and lever guns for hunting or when in Bear country. They have a badass 45-70 hardcast load I used to shoot a big Brown Bear on a hunt several years ago with a Marlin lever action. They also have a serious hardcast flat point load for the small 380's. It's supposed to be a good penetrator for the skulls of bad guys. I have a few boxes of the heavy soft point for my 10mm Glock and several boxes of FMJ 45 ACP heavy loads. Good Stuff!!!

They also have a great .444 load with 335 gr at 2000 ft/sec. Not quite 45/70 but very adequate for bear defense especially when consider that this is almost double a 454 in handgun which so many consider an excellent bear defense. Take that and double it and you have a great stopper especially with Buffalo Bore in the chamber.
