Browning pump shotgun

A WATCHMAN
My neighbor is selling a Browning BPS shotgun, MINT condition. He's asking $450.00 for it. Anyone have one of these that can offer pros & cons? Is it worth the price? I'm only familiar with Mossberg & Remington.

Smooth, dependable, well made. Just for the sake of a thorough inspection, ask him if you can cycle some shells through it. Better yet, take it out and fire a box. Generally speaking, however, these are great guns.

Nice shotgun. I have the upland special BPS with the straight English stock and short 22" barrel. What I've seen, they run $400 to $600 used. Like RossA said run a box through it before buying it. Not a bad deal at $450 if it is in mint condition. (I bought mine 2 yrs ago for $250. sweet deal :) ).

I have a Browning Auto-loader 5 that was made back in 1960's. It is a 12 gauge, and I got it from my father-in-law when he passed. I still use it as my go-to hunting shotgun and it works perfect. I would not take anything for it. Some people say they kick too much, but I have no problem with it. I also have a 12 gauge Remington 870 pump, but prefer the Browning.
