Let's get down to brass tacks, here: When all is said and done, how many of you have faith enough in our current system and in the American people to think we are going to turn this country around?
I think we are so far removed from a Constitutional Republic that we aren't ever going to get back to that. The patriots amongst us have already been labelled terrorists. We've got a socialist and his minions in the WH and half the country put 'em there. And most Americans are historically, civically, and constitutionally illiterate. It would take generations of patriot fighters to reclaim the Republic and I don't see it.
Furthermore, for the most part, the American people are sheep, or are on the gov't dole, one way or another, and they are never gonna rise up to take back the country, because they don't even see the problem. Even if they do eventuallly wake up, it'll be too late. The end of the "American Experiment" has already been predicted by several historical figures, some 150 years ago ("When the citizenry figures out they can vote themselves largesse from the treasury, the experiment is over"). Isn't this exactly where we are?
Finally, the "puppet masters" behind the curtain just won't allow it to happen. Hell, if things really got out of hand, the corporate fascists aided by their lackey progressive politicians would simply crush the country economically and force everyone to their knees. The Federal Reserve could do this anytime they were so directed.
My admittedly cynical, pessimistic thoughts. Feel free to give me reasons for optimism.
Yours thoughts.
