folks need to educate themselves on good diet practices not be told what they can and can't do but taught to make responsible and right decisions for themselves
sugar is an addictive drug for sure but to ban it is just silly

I'm sorry, but I will have to disagree with equating cane sugar to 'a drug'.
Heroin and Cocaine are 'addictive drugs' not sugar i.m.h.o.

Since sugary drinks don't provide nutrition only calories, why not ban them completely??? Candy is bad for you - ban it. You people spend the money foolishly - we will take it all and give you what you need. Why do you need that large living space, 6x8 should be more than large enough for 2 or 3 people or are you GREEDY. /rant

Need to be stopped! Hasn't anyone ever heard of America being "The Land of the Free"? If I want to drink myself into a sugar coma then by god it's my business... This is getting a little much!
 
That's how NYC residents like to be governed. Some people like living under tyrannical dictatorships. Some people love being taken care of from cradle to grave.

That's fine and dandy as long as they keep it in NYC. The problem is, this disease spreads. It won't stay there.
 
Imagine the balls of this guy? He's doing it again... trying to control people by regulating the products they buy. Mike, ever heard of buying TWO sodas? How about banning cigarettes, the only product that when used as directed, kills you!

Now do y'all understand why NYC will never allow carrying a firearm? Nutso mayor wants to appear on "The Nanny."

A lot of this nanny state bull would stop if people were made to be responsible for their own health care, including (most important) the cost.

The problem is the metro's in NYC insist on spreading their disease because you see, they are sophisticated don't you know, and they know better.

Most of the New York Democratic majority of the NY ASSembly live in NY City. The city has the most restrictive gun laws other than Chicago. Yet these same Democratic hoplophobic sophisticates are the anti gun coalition and feel it is their mission to bring the whole state under the same regulations. Bloomberg want's to transmit the disease to the whole country.

LEAVE US (the unwashed masses that don't live in the city) FREAKING ALONE!

The " nanny state" paying for it is the key to total control. First, Tobacco, then Salt now sugar, Firearms and ammo are down their list don't kid yourself. It is just a matter of time.

Is Mayor Mike really going to get this passed? Soda container size restrictions? What’s next…toilet paper and how much to use?
Mike Bloomberg , presently anti-gun and anti salt is now also anti soda. This has to be one of the most ridiculous and arrogant abuses of power I have ever heard. If this is passed, and I'm sure it will be, get ready for the next thing. Perhaps:Time limits at out door cafes? Sock colors? How about even more water saving but useless as toilets toilets…that you’d have to flush 3x’s because twice just doesn’t…well you know.

That's not exactly taking away your freedoms. It's not something that the Founding Fathers fought for." Hey Mike...look up the Ninth and Tenth Amendment you Meglo Maniac....first salt in food and now the size of soda containers..I don’t know...maybe he almost drowned in a Big Gulp as a kid....while eating salt water taffy.
People of NYC...open your mouths...it's not about obesity, it's about control. You need to take yours back.
