just watched bloomberg interview on cbs FACE THE NATION. bloomerg says that leaders should lead from the front and stop taking polls and then pandering to what the polls say. so..........to me that is saying that leaders should tell the people what they want, no matter what the majority says. bloomberg is the mayor of new york city that has the most idiotic gun laws in the nation, chicago is running a close second, yet both cities have the highest crime rates in the nation. are those laws working or are those laws just another way to control the populus?

I lived in NY for 20 years. Gun laws and laws in general are ridiculous in that state. I've been living in FL for 4 years now and really can't complain. I love watching the people that are higher than us and in control making shitty decisions and making outrageous excuses. Everything has really been going downhill the past few years.

Bloomberg's a monomaniac. There's no more compromising with the gun control industry than there was room for compromise between Adolf Eichmann and Anne Frank.

He has the maximalist goal of total citizen (other than him and his cronies and bodyguards) disarmament, and NOTHING is going to change that. Any zigs and zags, or temporary postponements are PURELY for show.

Your greatest literary contribution yet. Very well put. I salute you.

In the past couple of days, I've been seeing AHSA type calls on firearms related message boards for "compromise" with those who would COMPLETELY disarm us. They're actually calling for CAPITULATION. It's the equivalent of the U.S. surrendering to Japan five minutes before hoisting the flag on Mt. Suribachi.

these politicians should live out here in "fly over country" for awhile before they move into thier ivory towers w/accompanying body guards. they don't need to protect themselves(they pay to have it done for them). we however, can only depend on ourselves and our own awareness. the pres said the other night that his girls go to movies, and i thought, yep , and how many secret service people did they have with them? it just makes me po'd that they can "legislate" gun control as the good mayor has done and deny the common the right to protection that costs the government nothing. i am sure that the good mayor doesn't have to pay for his bodyguards or bullet proof autos the citizens of the city do....just another perk .....right mr mayor. ditto for chicago and thier new mayor.
