I recently picked up a Ruger SR1911. The shop threw in a 50 rd. box of Blazer FMJ ammo
with an aluminum case. Loaded up a mag full, & they all went bang with no issues.
Any one else use this ammo?

Decent enough ammo. Part of ATK which owns federal and Speer.
I like herters brass for the money too.
Brass ammo that is terrible is Remingon! dirty, recoil varies, and the bullet sinks to the bottom of the case after 2 reloads the brass is thin and stretches

I shot the rest of the box with no issues. I won't go looking
for it, but if I see it cheap, I'd buy some.

I have shot them and had no problems. As missoak said, I will not go out of my way to buy them but they are good enough for shooting holes in paper. I do like to shoot on the cheap. But I want quality ammo for carry!!!!

I have shot thousands of rounds of Blazer aluminum in various calibers and have had zero issues what so ever. Good practice ammo and usually at good prices.

I've shot 1000's of rounds of Blazer Brass FMJ for target practice in .40. I have fed it through a Glock G23 and G22. I have yet to have any failures.
