Defend yourself against an assault with your concealed carry weapon, and if the New Black Panthers don't approve, then they could publish a wanted dead-or-alive poster with your name on it, and you and your family have to go into hiding.

Regardless if Zimmerman is guilty or innocent, don't let what the blank panthers have done be ignored as a media stunt.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups, says on its website that the new black panther party... is "virulently racist," advocating violence against whites, Jews and law enforcement.

Stand up for yourself and all other concealed-carry folks.

(Bitching to your friends over a beer, or in a forum is fun, but doesn't accomplish much.)

Instead, make a quick phone call to the office of the attorney, (you don't have to give your name). Tell them you'd like them to pursue this offense by the black panthers. They take a note of your comment and pass it along to the attorney in charge. That's it.

Progress is made when enough people speak up.

It's a disturbing trend that the panthers have now twice been excused for clearly breaking the law. Does anyone have any ideas why? Ted Nuget got a visit from the Secret Service for making a comment, yet these guys, soliciting death for money, nothing...

Where's the outcry from regular folks saying they won't tolerate this?

So this is what we have come to, brake the law and if no one complains no harm no foul. The black panthers solicited murder on national media and we have to call and complain to the states attorney general for action to be taken. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy. Here's some scary statistics; across five different CCW websites forums, with a total combined read count between 700 - 800, you two are the only ones with enough guts to mention you sent an email.

One forum actually removed the post because they felt it was too inflammatory to ask for a phone call to stand up for CCW rights. Can you imagine?

Years ago, I had regular death threats and supposed maps to my house posted in usenet by neo-Nazis who didn't like my talking about their intense sexual interest in pre-pubescent boys.

They figured they would "intimidate" me. Instead, they got "You think you know where I live. How come you're not here yet? Too stupid to follow your own directions, or just too SCARED?"

It's been more than ten years and no goosestepping kiddie diddlers have shown up. The fact that I made it abundantly clear that I would CHEERFULLY shoot any of them who made the trip probably had something to do with that.

Bullies thrive on fear. Show them that you're not afraid, and are in fact FAR more dangerous to them than they are to you and they shrivel up and blow away.

If that doesn't work, just shoot them in the face.

Fine group of folks, these "New Black Panthers" - I would imagine that most African-Americans are embarrassed to be associated with them, solely for sharing skin pigmentation. I know that I often feel that way when mine is taken as an agreement with the white stupidity I see. In think, perhaps, in the service of making a point, you are giving them more credit than they are due.

You make some good points. I think though, that my original intent wasn't clear. I have no fear of these people. Their group is so small I could dispatch all them without having to change magazines. That's not bravado speaking, just mathematics.

The point is that they committed a crime which was nationally broadcast, and gotten away with it. Why?

In my city, you can get a ticket and fine for parking the wrong way on the street, yet these guys have offered a reward for killing someone, soliciting death of someone presumed innocent, yet no response.

From what I'm seeing, unless people are directly, and personally threatened, in-person, there's zero concern. And it makes sense; people are busy with their own lives. What's it to them?

Some interesting cultural differences I've noticed: In Afghanistan, some Koran's are accidentally burned, and the Afghans riot for five days and a handful of people are killed, including U.S. soldiers. Over some books.

When a white police officer is acquitted for shooting an armed black man who tried to shoot the officer, there are riots for days, cars burned, businesses destroyed, people die.

When Muslim extremists occupied a Christian church and desecrated bibles, no response.

When a black man executes white tourists for not having enough money for him to steal, no response.

When people are asked to make a phone call to speak out against criminals, almost no response. And people wonder why crime is worse. Hell, in this day and age why should we have to carry concealed? Shouldn't our technology and modern cities be safe? Maybe it's because people won't speak up that criminals get bolder and more people take to that life.

CCW permits are being requested in greater numbers than ever before. Does anyone wonder why?

I might also add when it's time for budget cuts public safety is most often at the top of the list. While social programs go mostly untouched. Politicians know that tax payers are not likely to support special tax levies to support social programs so they cut public safety and use that to pass special tax levies. The reason more people are seeking permits is because cops are too heavy to pack around and in some ares they are becoming extinct.
