Binding AK mags

I have a couple of AK mags that I cannot get the full 30 rounds in. Any recommendations on how address the issue? Is there a preferred magazine loading tool?

I would never load any 30rd mag to full capacity. 28 is the limit for me on AK's and my AR. This was a suggestion from the AR manufacturer who is a friend and a class lll dealer.

The problem mag will only take 26 rounds.

You did not mention what type of magazines they are. New, surplus, steel, polymer?

As far as loaders go, you can do a Google search and there will be many different suggestions.

Steel surplus.

Have you disassembled the magazines and checked the springs and the follower? The followers can often become damaged on AK surplus mags from the bolt slamming against them. I would check this first. Followers are inexpensive to replace.
