Bulldog Pride
I have noticed that some "VETERAN POSTERS" here are very critical of what is posted!

What a SHAME! :hang3:

Even just simple posts are ripped apart or ridiculed!

Debate That :nono: :frown: :nono:

Try not to insult anyone as this is an information exchange, but if you cannot stand the heat get out of the kitchen. With that said try and be civil.

I refrain to call anybody a troll. If I do not like what is posted or I don't want to get involve, I just move on. It is the most humane thing to do. Where I am very particular of are those that post without stating their location with their post. I do have the time of the day to give to them, only the very few of them whom I know who has been here for quite a while and/or been aware of them for quite some time. Pity on me because I may be missing on something that would have been an intelligent post of my lifetime, but then, it is my loss. Having been a victim of some trolls who had swore at me for putting on my opinion, I just refuse to get involved. That is my story and I am not changing it for the sake of any argument. Been there, done that.

Did someone post something stupid and get their feelings :frown: hurt? Internet forums require a thick skin.

I'm a little surprised. I haven't seen much name calling or disrespectful response on this site. I have seen some pretty dumb questions and some dumber responses, but all in all people pretty much have a chance to say their piece.

I'm new to this forum and so far haven't had any problems, but I do lurk a little bit before my first posts to get a feel of the group. This is the 4th gun forum I belong to and it's pretty easy to get the feel of which threads are going to get you flamed and which ones are not. I really don't worry too much if someone disagrees with my position on a topic, to each there own and everyone has a right to their opinion. I say post freely and only take to heart the posts that mean something to you, and if someone wants to be an internet tough guy and it makes them feel good, more power to them.

I've been around a few gun forums...currently active in three. Here are a few thoughts.

1. The larger the forum, the more likely the chance of having a few folks who seem to be curmudgeons...all the time.

2. On smaller, weapon-specific forums, woe be to anyone who says anything remotely negative about a particular firearm.

3. Sub-forums seem to attract more negativity than necessary. For example: GlockTalk has a religion forum. Talk about a place for hateful comments...that will do it every time.

I find the hate & discontent pretty tame here...that's why I decided to "sit a spell".

The religion forum here was pretty vile IIRC. If you (generic) don't agree w/ another poster's religious beliefs then ignore them.

Watch out for the "keyboard assassins" here. Some love to scream "TROLL". I don't post much , just read and laugh.

I've been accused of being a troll by some seriously ignorant and clueless posters. What I am is a strongly opinionated old curmudgeon not swayed by pc, urban myth or gun store bs.

Trolls beware

While some do indeed require a thick skin, no forum should require a thick skin. People ask questions to learn. The fact that you may know the answer and the question seems stupid to you, doesn't mean the OP knows the answer. Some of you here seem to make a point out of acting like a "horses rear" but most don't. Those who are guilty know who you are and pride yourselves on acting the way you do. Most of you would probably come across differently if you were face to face with the people you insult. Why not try acting the way your folks taught you to act?
