What is the best method for sharpen knives? Thanks

I've always been a oil stone and steel kind of person. Of course I grew up a Butcher's son and have done my share of sharpening boning and skinning knives. As a side note: You will cut yourself much less often when you keep your knives sharp! ;-)

I have used my Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker on every knife I have. From large blades too small, it does a great job. It is also easy to use. Very natural and uncomplicated.

Best sharpener: AAC ceramic sharpener

Getting the angle exactly the same for each swipe is the key. This pocket sized ceramic sharpener makes the angle consistent and does a better job than anything else I've found. It costs less than six dollars. You can find it here:

The fastest one that will put a VERY good and VERY sharp edge on is the work sharp. I love mine. I bought the stones and a gatco (similar to the lansky) and while those work great you have to spend a very long time to get it just right. The work sharp is very fast and shaving sharp. I wish I'd have found it first!
