best concealed carry revolver

I'm looking to get a revolver I can conceal on me. I currently have a .45 Spingfield XDM with a 4.5 inch barrel. It's just a bit too big for my frame. I'm 6 foot 3 and 245 pnds. Anyone have some suggestions?

Look into the Ruger SP101, although the grips from the factory are crap but can easily be upgraded for about 20 bucks. Multiple barrel length options and shoots 38/357.

Check out the S&W442 or 642 in .38spl. The Ruger LCR is another good one and comes in .38 or .357.

Wait, what am I missing here 6'3"/245 and your having trouble covering a med frame? How are you carrying currently?

I'm 6'/200 and carry an XD-45 4" in a Bianchi carrylok at the 4 o'clock and it covers fine.

I'm guessing that your looking for zero printing?

I also carry a S&W .357 air weight revolver in the pocket when necessary... that might be what your looking for.

We're the same dimensions, I carry a S&W M&P 340 back right pocket, holster of course. Speed loads F/right. Have to switch the wallet but I hardly know feel it. Good luck/

Don't let concealment reduce the power on your hip. My first choice for concealed carry is a Ruger SuperRedhawk chambered in .480 Ruger with a 3-9X50 scope.

Dress around the gun. Mumus are the ultimate attire.

Stay Ready, My Friends.

I'm confused why can't you conceal it? I'm only 5'10" and 160ish pounds and I carry a .45 with a 5" barrel and full length grip in a Galco KingTuk IWB holster on my strong side at about the 4o'clock position. Its completly concealed under a tshirt or even a semi loose muscle shirt. At the 4o'clock position it doesn't interfer with driving and it doesn't print while walking. If you get a revolver there's more of a chance you'll have a printing issue due to the cylinder.

I've carried a Taurus Model 85 (Stainless Steel) in an Uncle Mike's Inside-the-pocket holster (Size 3) in the front right pocket of my cargo shorts for years. The gun can be had with or without a shrouded hammer for about $300.00 new. I've had several and found them all to be accurate and durable as well as easy to carry.

As a former police officer and soldier, I have to take time to realize I am no longer likely to be running towards trouble and still be right. The gun is to get me and my family home safe, not to be a hero. Five rounds with a couple of speed loaders and a box of fifty rounds in the car should get me through the day.

As with most everything else, there is a compromise to consider. A heavier steel frame revolver is more pleasant and easier to shoot well but a lighter alloy frame revolver is more pleasant to carry. I compromised in favor of easier carry, my wife and daughter both opted for easier to shoot well. Only you can answer that question for yourself.
