I currently have an old HIPOINT 9mm and was wandering what you would consider a better gun

Im very partial to Bersa myself. They make from 380 concealed carry all the way up to .45 and all are very concealable and reliable. I own 2 of the 380's and love them. Very accurate, very easy to conceal, with the loads I am carrying has the stopping power i need for self deffence; and lets not forget the price: very very affordable for those on a budget. More info is available at Bersa and if you wish to talk to owners of bersa's www.bersachat.com...Good luck in your quest

Anything else is a good start, but gun over no gun any day.

I personally favor my kimber ultra carry II .45acp but you spend a little more.

If you want to spend less, I recommend a compact S& W .40 M&P or close equal like springfield armory compact 9mm xd or glock.

If you want smaller then the LCP

But its all personal preference

Well I own a hipoint 9mm carbine which is great for plinking but other than that I feel as tho hipoint is a waste of money. I personally carry a glock 27 during the winter and during the summer a cobra 380 which is small, very compact, and after thousands of rounds I have had no problems with it. It is also a fairly cheap gun but glock is by far the very best

A Hi Point .45. Actually, the 9mm is easier to conceal, but doesn't have the power of the .45. Either is a good gun, no matter what others may say. Never had any problem with either of mine.

I think the Glock 19, 26, Springfield XDM Compact/Subcompact, and if you are on a budget, the Taurus PT145 is a nice carry piece.

I carry 2. A Kimber Ultra Crimson Carry on my right hip, and a Sig Sauer P238 just in front of my left hip crossdraw style. Both are great shooters and with todays factory loads both have stopping power. You get what you pay for. There are many different CCW type handguns available go to the range and shoot whatever they have.

I carry a Smith and Wesson M&P 9c in a Crossbreed Supertuck IWB. However, what's best for you depends upon what type of pistol you prefer, caliber, etc. There's no one "best" carry pistol for everyone.

I have an LCP loaded with Zombie Killers in my pocket always. I can conceal and carry something this small and light comfortablly when concealing something larger it isn't practical.

It takes more practice at target acquisition because of the non-existant sights on the LCP but, if you can hit it, it will be effective. My wife's Sig P238 has great sights and I'm almost as accurate at 10m as I am with my 1911's. And because of a real front sight on the Sig, I can quickly sight short range targets.

Anything wrong with a 442 in a pocket holster? Lint won't bother it...you can have your hand on it and no one would know...38 +p 158gr lswc....ouch...hope I never...

The 'best' conceal carry firearm is...
the one that you are going to carry everyday.
the one that you are going to rely on to save your life.
the one that you will affectionately call "old faithful".

In other words, find the gun that YOU are comfortable carrying EVERY day and have taken it to the range often enough that you are comfortable that it may someday save your life or the lives of your loved one.
It also depends on the type of carry you are able or willing to do. There is outside waist, inside waist, ankle, pocket, shoulder... and the list goes on.
Choose what is comfortable for the way you dress and your body type.

I agree with Dale64 100%. Taking it to the range and practice is the most essential point he makes. Not just standing there shooting shot after shot, if you can move around shoot from different angles, different body positions, practice your draw and shot until it is routine, until your mind automatically knows what to do. Shoot with your off hand, across your body as if you are seated in your car and have to shoot out the window, or towards the rear. Practice Practice Practice!
