Best conceal carry gun

What does everyone think is the best carry gun? I like the Kahr P40. A lot of people I know like the new Ruger LC9. Any other thoughts?

Ohhh...did you open up a thread for all sorts of opinions. It would be easier to narrow it down to a few selections and then seek opinions on those. As for the 2 you mentioned, I would take the Ruger. The 9mm is much cheaper to practice with than the 40 S&W.

How will you be carrying? IWB, OWB, open, etc? Price range? Caliber preference?

Best concealed carry gun

Depends on what you are doing. I love my Walther PK380 but when headed to unfamiliar areas I carry my S&W SD40.

Taurus PT145 Millennium Pro .45. Stopping power in compact semi-auto, light enough and very accurate & smooth. No more kick than a .38 Spl.

I have a LC9 as a back up gun, its a great little gun to conceal I don't care for the long trigger pull but it compact and accurate. I also have the Crimson Trace laser on mine.

I'm working on that myself. My stand by is a g36 either pocket (either cargo pants or traditional) or Iwb. Getting a pf9 for pocket duty and a xdsc9 for backup duty or just for a change!!

Size wise, check out the Diamondback DB9 (9mm). Fits most .380 pocket holsters.

I like the LC9 trigger over the PF9. The KelTec has a 1 notch rail that the Ruger doesn't. The Ruger has a safety, although very small and hard to operate,

Totally subjective question with many facets. My usual carry gun is a Rock Island compact 1911 either IWB or OWB depending on what I'm wearing. I sometimes carry a .357 with 2" brl. Granted, smaller guns are easier to conceal, but I'm a big guy with large hands and I have trouble controlling small grip guns. I have had a Kahr CW-9 and a J-frame type 38spl; both good guns but I couldn't shoot them well enough. The larger guns call for a bit more creativity to conceal, but I am more comfortable with my ability to shoot them well.

Best Concealed Carry Gun

Everyone will have a different opinion on this...

I carry a Kahr. It is very thin, extremely comfortable to grip/hold, and has the smoothest trigger of all my pistols (I also have an H&K USP and a Springfield XDM) and the ones that I've *tried* (Sig Sauer P229, Sig Sauer P220, Walther PPK/S, and Beretta Tomcat). Great for CCW!

Kahr Cm9 IWB. If I have to go really small, LCP w/CT laser IWB or back pocket. Have not carried the LCP much. Kahr is pretty small.

The "Best conceal carry gun" is the one you can conceal the best and shoot the best. That being said, it would be different from person to person!!!

Yep, lots of opinions. Does "best" mean Reliability? Size? Capacity? Weight? Stopping power? etc. I like my little Ruger LCR for size, weight, reliability and stopping power(which can cause an argument all by itself). 5 round capacity is only drawback for me, so I would need to make each round count.

Which ever pistol is most comfortable for the shooter

I carry a S&W Sigma .40, and to be honest though a great gun to shoot, I would rather have a smaller pistol for CC. The LC9, or even the LCP .38 are both in my sight`s to purchase as my next CC pistol. My wife has a Ruger SP101 snub nose which shot`s either a .38 or .357 round. Cheap for shooting at the range using .38, and for CC, and home protection the .357 come`s in handy. Sometime`s I even carry her pistol just to have a smaller pistol in my waist band, and not my big S&W poking me in the hip when ever I sit down. Hey if it`s not comfortable to CC, and not comfortable to shoot get something that is. I sure do not want to be fumbling around with my gun when it`s truly a time when I need it.

Being that Arizona is shorts and T-shirt most year around, it's my S&W M60 .357 when dinning out, and my S&W 1911 Scandium .45 all other times.

As others are saying it all depends, weather, comfort, clothing etc. Personally Xdm 9mm 3.8 subcompact. Also nothing wrong with the more comfortable taurus .357 snub. However i am going to get something a little smaller for summer.
