best ad load for a .38 snub

I want the biggest ad load for a two inch .38 snub . Any ideas ?

Bufflo bore makes a nasty 158+p though it is what I carry all the time I have only fired 4 rounds of it and my wrist hurt for 2 days afterwards so I dont practice with it. I was told they are running 1350ft per sec. I believe that.

My wife is running Remington 125gr. Golden Saber +P in her snubbie. Bigger isn't always better. It's how well you can get back on target after a shot and how well the round gets the job done.

I shoot 158 grain standard pressure semi-jacketed hollow points out of my S&W 638. Has some weight and punch, but not so much that you can't get back on target quickly. I agree with devcon.

I would say the Buffalo Bore has what you need.

Heavy .38 Special +P Ammo - 158 gr. L.S.W.C.H.P. --G.C.
S&W mod. 60, 2 inch- 1040 fps (379 ft. lbs.)
S&W mod. 66, 2.5 inch- 1059 fps (393 ft. lbs.)
Ruger SP101, 3 inch- 1143 fps (458 ft. lbs.)
S&W Mt. Gun, 4 inch- 1162 fps (474 ft. lbs.)

best ad load? accidental discharge??????????

He can't type and apparently doesn't know about the edit function. I'm sure he meant sd (self defense).............

The only two loads I'd use in a .38 snub are the Corbon DPX and the Short barrel gold dot.

I always get that lol . I have a iPhone , and time to time they type the wrong thing trying to fix what your saying . Yes I did mean self defense round . Or sd

Honestly I have medium hands and I can type on it either way without looking . Super fast it just is amazing but sometimes gets too smart lol

I use .38 +P Federal HST or Hydra-shok in one 2" barrel 5 shot. I use Fedl HST or Hyrda-shok .357 in the 7-shot one.

Another load that is good is a hard cast wadcutter

Most bullets will not expand from a short barreled revolver and depth of penetration is lacking. The wadcutter just cuts a round whole.

Standard Pressure Short Barrel Low Flash Heavy .38 Special Pistol and Handgun Ammo
Standard Pressure Short Barrel Low Flash Heavy .38 Special Ammo - 150 gr. Hard Cast Wad Cutter (850fps/M.E. 241 ft. lbs.)
Standard Pressure Short Barrel Low Flash Hvy .38 Spl (Non + P) Pistol & Handgun Ammunition

I completely agree! I carry the Buffalo Bore .38 Special 150 gr. Hard Cast Wadcutter in my LCR.
