Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact Pro .45 cal pistol

Yesterday, while walking through a gun shop, I found a Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact Pro .45 cal pistol. It was the first .45 I have seen from Bersa and was amazed at how comfortable it was in my hand. It felt like I was just pointing my finger and was able to hold it quite steady. The gun was listed at $477.00. Not having seen a Bersa before in .45 cal, and how it feels, I am considering buying it for both the caliber and the feel of the gun but first, I would like to know if anyone out there has owned or shot one of them before and your feelings on the quality and accuracy of the gun. I know Bersa is not one of the major brands of guns but I have a Thunder .380 and am well satisfied with it in workmanship and accuracy and, if the .45 is equal to the quality of my .380, I will buy the gun simply because I like it, not for an EDC but just another to have and mess around with.

I already own a 1911 .45 cal but the Bersa is much smaller and lighter. I own a gun in most calibers from S&W, Sig and Glock so I don't want it to be a "safe Queen," just a simple "working" pistol that I won't mind getting beat up. I would appreciate any comments from any who are familiar with this gun, both pro and con.

I have one of those. Good, reliable firearm, I havent had any problems with it at all. However, my wife and several of my friends have had failure to feed (fully) problems when shooting it. I blame this on them limpwristing it, as it has never done it for me. Great size, and like you said, it fits the hand well and points naturally. The price sounds avg to maybe even a little on the low side. As far as accuracy, I would say mine is avg for a short barrel auto.

Thanks. I am still mulling it over but believe I will buy it in the next couple of days.

I carried a Bersa Thunder 45UC Pro for over a year. They are highly underestimated in my opinion. They will; however, bite the hand that holds them if you get to high on the back-strap. I wear shooting gloves when I am practicing with mine, because I have been bit twice during fast fire sessions.

They have a Beretta heritage; both Engineers that started the company previously worked for Beretta. At least, that is what I understand.

They are excellent pistols and I also have one in 9mm and two of the .380 models.
