Bersa Thunder Ultra Compact .45

just received through my ffl friend the above weapon. it's a little bigger than the xd-s and a lot less expensive. also, there has been no availability of the xd-s in the Las Vegas area for months. put 50 rounds through it. kicked less than i expected, although i need a lot more practice. pretty sweet gun in my opinion, although i'm not an expert in these things. i'm going to let some of my more experienced friends fire it and see what they think. i bought it to carry and it fits in my pocket in my big boy pants (but not in my disco pants from the 80's).

anybody else own one or are looking to buy one? your comments would be appreciated.

I only know that a person I know who has one shoots it well and likes it. Myself, if I was going to own a .45 I would want the larger Bersa. I'm not a .45 guy but from everything I hear and read the Bersa UC .45 is a good gun.

Excelent weapon, wish I still had mine, only thing I had found with it as I carryed in my pocket, was the slide release and safety, felt like a little knife scraping your leg, I was going to mill down the offending points, but my gun guy talked me out of it so I traded for a G-36, which worked fine, but the Bersa did have twice the compacity,.........still wish I had kept it and just milled off those pointy things, at least enough to not irritate my leg

comforting thoughts from both of you. thanks. i'll keep practicing and watch out for the pointy things. I"ll look around for an ITP holster that might alleviate the problem, and I'll look for another larger carry weapon so I won't tip over just carrying one.

Happy holidays to all

LOL, if you can find a satisfactory holster the "pointy things" are not a issue, and a good idea on carrying two, don't have to worry about extra mags, if you want to keep them both 45s may I suggest a compact or sub compact 1911...........
