Beretta Nano

Thinking about buying the Nano. Any thoughts? I'm the type that will take placement of 9mm over 45 cal system shock for a concealed carry weapon. With that, just want to know more about the Nano owners or potentially Kahr or Ruger. No Glock for me as I want a lighter gun. Thanks.

My wife carries a Ruger LC9, it's a very good size and weight but the trigger is very hard to get used to. With dedicated practice the trigger pull becomes second nature. This gun has been 100 percent reliable with a lot of ammo run through it.

I have been doing some research on the Nano, It has quite a good reputation so far. It is a contender for compact 9mm. I have not fired one. They are said to have a very smooth D/A trigger that is very repeatable and does not stack.

Can't speak much to the Nano. If it's the one I'm thinking about, I found it the be extremely 'top' heavy, disproportionately so. Granted that might help with recoil. I have a Ruger SR9C and I love it. Recoil management is very good, and it's very accurate. I also like the price point of the SR9C as compared to the S&W M&P and Springfield XD-M. Mine was about $420 with 10 and 17 round magazines. If it means anything to you, Ruger's are made in the USA, which I like. My standard advice is buy what you'll shoot and hold all day: gun or camera. If it's not comfortable and easy to use, you won't use it. If you can't 'point it' with sights aligned naturally, I'd keep looking. A gun must point naturally, in my opinion.

Can't speak to anything but the M&P Shield 9mm. Comes with 7+1 and 8+1 magazines. Can get all 4 fingers on the grip using the 8+1. Recoil is great. Disappears with Thesis IWB holster.

I was talking with another gun dealer today about the Nano, We agreed the px4 sub compact is easier to manipulate I.E. slide release/mag release. Until you are thoroughly familiar with the Nano and its lack of a slide release, you will, fumble a bit. I would choose the px4 as the size difference is barley arguable, and you can use a bigger mag if you want.

I'd go with a Shield or PPS over the Nano. (I have a PPS 9mm & Ruger SR9C.)

I LOVE my PPS! (SR9C is new and haven't shot it yet.)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the Nano, unlike most of the posters I actually own one and speak from experience lol. After much research I chose it over the Shield and CM9 and LC9 which I considered its main competitors, they are all great guns and there's a lot of personal preference involved so handle them all and see for yourself. For a lefty its great and 100% ambi unlike the Shield and LC9 with their silly one sided safeties, not to mention how incredibly difficult the Shield is to find around here. It's very sleek and snag free when drawing from concealment, handles recoil well also.
