A STATE PERMIT TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON (CCW) class will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Benson Police Department training room, 306 S. Gila Street at 7th Street. The class runs from 8 a.m. to about 5 p.m.
The charge for the class is $25. After successful completion of the written and shooting test, students will be provided with all the necessary paperwork to apply to the state for their CCW permit. The state fee to accompany the application is $60.
Students may qualify with any type or caliber of handgun. Firearms and ammunition will be provided for those students who do not have them. Students are asked to bring eye and hearing protection, and a warm jacket.
The class is sponsored by the Benson Company of Arizona Rangers, as a part of their "Spirit of a Safe Community" program.
