Because there are about 10 threads on RIP ammo...

so you made an 11th one?? :sarcastic:

I think I read this article on one of the other threads.... in fact, I think I posted it. :)

Yeah, this "new and improved" ammo is not anything special. It looks "cool", it seems "tacticool", it's all copper and shiny, but for $2-$2.50 a round it better clean my firearm afterward and treat me to a nice dinner. When it doesn't do as well as other conventional ammo in a gel test, that tells me to stay awaaaaaaaaaay!!

Yes, I did make an 11th one! I wasn't going to find all of the others to share. HA!

And that would be an awesome invention... a round you can fire that cleans your gun for you. Shoot a couple of those at the end of your range sessions and you're done!

I was also rather dismayed that a Glock had issues feeding it. I know it was only five rounds, but really!

When I was a teen we used to make our own gun powder (Serpentine) and glass canister bombs, eh, it was a hobby.
I wonder why we haven't seen liquid propellents replace gun powder. We made very clean burning tennis ball guns using starting fluid.
I'm going out back to try some OxiClean rounds...

G2 Research's RIP Ammo - Ballistic Testing, Phase One | The Truth About Guns

Here's an independent test. While it did get a decent amount of penetration, he replicated the damage done by the R.I.P. ammo fired from a Glock 19 with a .22LR Bersa Thunder. They're still analyzing results of a part two (this was a ballistics gel test), but still...

This post is not even in the right Link Removed sub forum. I posted this one before: http://www.usacarry.com/forums/handgun-ammunition-reloading/42830-first-independent-gel-test-g2-research-s-rip-ammo.html

Anyway, the rough equivalence of a 9mm RIP round to two 22lr rounds is commendable. :sarcastic:

I think this ammo should get a prize for being able to cause feeding issues in a Glock 19. That is certainly a modern engineering marvel. :sarcastic:

If I were going to spend $50 on 20 rds, I would buy a box of ammo for my 500 mag, if a person was hit with one of them, I don't really think anybody would be checking what the ballistic gel data was,..........only testing I did was with a buddy with a scrapyard, we stacked up 4 car doors against a tree, the rd went though the car doors and 4-5 inches into the tree, we also popped a rd off into the grill of a little import car, it went though the rad, ac cond, shattered the cast exhaust, and into the front side of a cast iron eng block, so I don't thing a block of jello would be a problem, ....and if it matters it is a 4in barrel
