Depends on how well trusted your participants are.
Squad maneuvers for recon are about the same thing as bird or rabbit hunting,
We use a lot of hand signals and 'Calls' for right and left maneuvers that mirror military training since most of our guys are former military,
Sweep right, sweep left, Hold, Cautious/Ready forward are all about the same as the military was.
Assaults on fixed positions would have to be done VERY carefully since that is obvious paramilitary training,
Discussions of ambush would have to be discussed in terms of 'Deer Blinds' and 'Target Areas' instead of calling it a 'Killing Zone' or 'Killing Box'...
I don't see why you couldn't do it, I just don't know WHY you think you would have to do it.
*IF* any occupation force were suicidal enough to try to invade,
The 'Survivors' will be the ones smart enough NOT to stand in the middle of the street as a 'Minute Man' and have a rally point for regroup, training and planning.
Every trained military mind knows wars are won on logistics, not 'Bravery'...
'Brave' people don't last long,
The careful thinker is the backbone of any military force or resistance force.
Would be nice to have a rally point that all of you have scouted, hunted, know where it's at and how to get there without being spotted as a building force,
Knowing where all your secondary rally points will be, having ingress and egress routes mapped in your heads, Ect.
That knowledge only comes from stomping boots on the ground ahead of time so you can take advantage of every scrap of cover, terrain, ect.
Plus, it would get a lot of 'Keyboard Commands' off their butts and into the field for some practical experience.
If you have to carry EVERYTHING you will need in a pack, or the equivalent weight in a pack around your local areas,
The they might get an idea of how difficult a 'Brushfire' war actually is!
Most of these guys might figure out where a SAW would be best placed to cover a specific area of approach,
But VERY FEW of them have considered covering that particular position...
If you are relying on one or two SAW positions to stop or slow down a larger, better equipped opposition force,
Then you had better be thinking AT LEAST three steps ahead!
Where is the cover going to be for the SAW position,
Where are the egress routes (Plural, you should have at least THREE potential egress routes when the position is no longer sustainable)
Where is the egress cover for that SAW going to be to cover them when it's time to bug out?
Where is the cover team's cover going to be?
Where is your rally point if it turns into a stampede?
Where is the secondary rally if the first one is compromised?
How is your radio/open communication skills?
Do you have 'Pet Names' for land marks, rally points, ect. that could be a 'Make Shift' code?
One place we go has an 'Official' name, we call it the 'Grinders' because of the grinding your suspension/frame does trying to get in and out...
Another spot is called 'Bass Hole' because a real azz hole caught a big bass there one time,
And although it has a 'Official' name, we've always called it 'Bass Hole'.
Do you have secondary gear stash points?
Someone's garage, barn, storage unit where you can put basic supplies long term?
Always good to have extra ponchos, web gear, canteens, basic cloths/cooking stuff, camp supplies,
Doesn't have to be anything expensive, can be 'Goodwill' silverware, old pots/pans the 'Little Woman' decided were 'Sticking' too much or were too ugly for her kitchen,
Old hunting cloths, surplus cammo, or what ever else you can put away for a few bucks...
I know you can't give credentials over the internet, but I've had situations where I've had to drop virtually ALL gear and bug out, and having a stash or two known only to you or your squad is a VERY good thing to have...
Like I said, anyone can learn basic squad maneuvers, that's not hard to teach very quickly,
It's the logistics that is hard to teach...
Personally, if a guy were 'Serious' about this, he would OWN a piece of land, or have a 'Stash'' on some 'Family' land or in Federal Reserve somewhere it's not going to be developed where he could reach in a day or two,
He would have basic items, knives, cooking/eating utensils, 'Bush Craft' items, cordage, tarps, blankets, cloths in that stash...
Water carrying/purification is always a consideration, so canteens are a MUST, even if it is recycled metal drink container from the local convenience store!
Anything beats NOTHING!
Forget about things like batteries, they will decay over time, and it might be 20 years before you need the stuff,
Radios, flashlights are OK, but skin the batteries out,
Seal up the cloths in vacuum pack bags, make sure the metal stuff is coated for long term storage, and leave it alone.
No sweat off your butt if you NEVER have to use it,
And it's there 'Just In Case', best $50 you ever spent if it helps you sleep better at night!
