I know you are being satirical, but here's an observation:
As has been remarked in the past, collectivists and statists hate three things: Our arms, our unrestricted freedom of movement and we the people having control of our own education (home schooling and/or private schools).
I grew up around small planes. There is NO reason for flying to be so expensive. No reason except - Government. Yes, small planes are at least ten times safer than cars in part because pilots are trained and the planes are well maintained. But the massive goverment agency and strangling regulation is not necessary for that. If you think about it, a Piper Cub or Cessna 150 has far less to it than my Toyota Corolla. There's no real reason it should not be cheaper.
With regard to those three targets of the collectivists, they've made pretty good progress against the idea that just anyone can have a small plane, and can simply hop into his Cessna and zip over to another state when he feels like it. We see more and more calls for GPS trackers in all cars "so they can tax us by the mile" (and just coincidentally track every movement of every driver). Many of the same people who rage against "taking the mark of the beast" and putting trackers on people are toting cell phones that track their every movement an can be easily accessed by Big Brother.
They've pretty well destroyed free thinking education, too. I find it increasingly difficult to call them schools. "Indoctrination centers" seems more accurate.
They may have miscalculated with the latest stage managed event and the attack on the AR15. They should have done it years ago, instead of waiting until it's the most popular rifle in America.
But the push on "universal background checks" actually amounts to registration (the current bill on this being pushed in my state is called "universal background checks," but it does NOT include dumping the data after the check. It is intended to be de facto registration and to destroy free gun shows.
The Ministry of Fatherland Defense is buying billions of rounds, though, because they know not all of us will go quietly into the long night.....
