True story, when I first started carrying I was having dinner at my fathers. I had just come from the range and had my SIG on my hip. My stepmother made some snarky comment that guns were dangerous etc. I unholstered, dropped the mag, and unchambered it (all the while keeping it in a safe direction.) I then placed the unloaded pistol on the table and told her that until the gun gets up, loads itself, and shoots someone she had no right to call it dangerous.
I know not the right way to honor someone's wishes in their home, however, I was young and my dad chuckled some so it was fine.
