Backup Gun Drills?

I was wondering if anyone does drills for when you carry a BUG. How do you plan and train for that time you need a BUG or do you just say I have it and I'm good to go ? Or do you think that a BUG is not needed?

A BUG is never needed....until you need it. I carry one, smaller caliber, real easy to conceal in my pocket, boot, waistband, etc. It's a .25 ACP so it would probably just piss off a bad guy but it's better than throwing stones. I practice with it but other than that I'm not sure how you would train with it.

If you are going to carry it then you need to practice/train drawing and using it.

Does anyone know when they will need a BUG ? As a retired LEO the answer yes, every time you go out, you do not leave your spare tire at home. I can go thru several different drills and every time try to change up why I need BUG. I just thought it would be good thread to see who is being prepared.

Always have a backup plan for your backup plan. Not fond of my BUG but it is deep concealable.

My backup is soon to be in an NRA ankle holster. It's a P22 and I practice with it all the time. .22lr isn't notoriously accurate from a 3.4 inch barrel, but I can keep my groups under an inch at about 20 or so yards. Practice makes perfect...just wish there was more .22 bricks. I'm down to 150 rounds.
