Anyone surprised?
The 40% private transfer figure on which they based their estimates were from 1997; of course, that is also the same number good ol' Bloomberg's groups kept waving in the faces of legislators as well. This number, in turn, was based on a 1994 telehone poll that only surveyed 251 people; the methodology is considered to be badly flawed.
Turns out the REAL number is something around 7%.

“Nothing good came of the passage of the law, except we found out just how anti-gun Democrats in Colorado are,” state Sen. Greg Brophy (R-Wray) told the Associated Press.
