Read through the story and then got side tracked and read several others on both sites. From reading the comments it seams that the author of the original article is somewhat of a fear monger. Don't get me wrong, its something I think about regularly, but I don't think these circumstances will come to light. The way I see it is to hope for the best but plan for the worst.

Infowars is a website selling stuff and SHTFplan.com is also selling stuff. I think the video was pretty much an infomercial, the idea being to alarm people enough that THEY WILL BUY STUFF ON THE WEBSITES. Pretty simple concept. I cannot be the only person who noticed the connection. Just a thought.

I'm not thinking we'll experience anything but a peaceful transfer of power....but it pays to be prepared. Isolated problems especially in urban environments wouldn't surprise me in the least if O loses.

Im prepared. Months worth of MREs stashed, bought enough ammo to survive a few waves...all i need nowis a straight jacket and tinfoil hat. Shiny side OUT lmao

I can say with confidence, any Soldier whos ordered to take weapons from the general public will usually fall on deaf ears, no soldier will violate the constitution, or at least none of the ones in my old unit would. Theres something called an illegal order, and that would be an illegal order, which would mean, you do not have to follow it, and in fact, youre supposed to relieve the person in command from any and all military duties, and youre supposed to toss them to the MPs lol.
Anyhow, wont happen, and if it does, simply dont answer your door, and if they enter, well shoot....

NG surely did fire at CIVILIANS, including women, at Kent state, and they fired on blacks in the 68 riots, too.

Not entirely true, Article 90 of the UCMJ states

(i) Inference of lawfulness. An order requiring the performance of a military duty or act may be inferred to be lawful and it is disobeyed at the peril of the subordinate. This inference does not apply to a patently illegal order, such as one that directs the commission of a crime.

IOW if you honestly feel that an order is unlawful you can disobey it but you do so at your own risk because ultimately it doesn’t matter if you think the order is unlawful what matters is what the members of your court-martial think

From about.com To Obey or Not to Obey

Take the case of Michael New. In 1995, Spec-4 Michael New was serving with the 1/15 Battalion of the 3rd infantry Division of the U.S. Army at Schweinfurt, Germany. When assigned as part of a multi-national peacekeeping mission about to be deployed to Macedonia, Spec-4 New and the other soldiers in his unit were ordered to wear United Nations (U.N.) Helmets and arm bands. New refused the order, contending that it was an illegal order. New's superiors disagreed. Ultimately, so did the court-martial panel. New was found guilty of disobeying a lawful order and sentenced to a bad conduct discharge. The Army Court of Criminal Appeals upheld the conviction, as did the Court of Appeals of the Armed Forces.

In either case there is no directive in the UCMJ or the manual of Courts martial for relieving a superior officer of command except in the Navy if a the commanding officer of a ship is deemed medically unfit for command (and it had better be documented to a”T”) by the ship’s medical officer and then the ship must proceed immediately to the nearest Naval facility where the ship’s executive officer must trun the ship over to “competent authority”

All that said, as I said in the other thread I think the whole story is a load of crap because no one would ever conduct such a briefing in an open formation unless they intended to confine the entire unit to quarters immediately afterwards
