Armed security at my local SSI office

I had to go down to the local SSI office here in Lexington and they had an armed guard at the door do all SSI offices have this?

Every social security office I've been to have had armed guards lately. I guess us old people are a threat to the administration. They've been stealing from us for years so now they have to protect their interests.

It is not just this administration. Every administration and congress since 1964 has been stealing social security taxes and spending on other things, and now they point their fingers at baby boomers calling us greedy for just wanting our money back. SSA, the congress, and a few others should be afraid. Not all of the baby boomers are sheep. Some are likely to get really mad.

I provided network installation and support to the SSA back in the mid 90's, and even then it was hard to gain access to the interior offices to work on the servers. They did have 'security guard' in the lobby area, but I do not remember if they were armed or not.

People get angry when they can't get the money the 'think' they deserve.

You may recall the hubbub a few years ago when the federal government ordered huge quantities of ammo--15 billion rounds or something, and none of it was for the military. A list of all the agencies that were part of that order was published. Besides the obvious Secret Service, FBI, and such, there were some unexpected names on the list. SSA was one. National Weather Service was another. One or two others also, that I don't recall now...probably the EPA was one. It seems that every agency of the federal government is armed these days. You can guess for yourself what the reasons are.

Our increasingly liberal federal government expands the list of people entitled to benefits every day. Anyone getting food stamps is now entitled to a free cell phone. Mexicans who ever worked illegally in the U.S. and then went back home, are entitled to Social Security benefits based on their fake SSNs and their word! George W Bush was president when the SSA constructed a building in Mexico City just to handle Social Security benefits for former illegal workers. Yes, it makes me angry that the government is paying unemployment benefits to 40 million Americans, then rewarding at every turn, those who come here illegally and take jobs from Americans. It is the unskilled labor force, now taken over by illegals, that has helped to create a permanent welfare class in this country. Any American who is not angry that the Congress and Presidents have stolen social security taxes and more--borrowing from China--and creating an unsustainable economy that will be a disaster for your grandchildren, needs to wake up. Of course, taking it out on someone at the Social Security office would be insane. The ballot box is where we need to fix the problem.

We can thank Lyndon Baines Johnson for those thefts, which are ongoing.

All these agencies armed and dangerous. What to do, what to do?

I've already done it, and I hope every capable, law-abiding American does it too; concealed carry, or open carry where legal.

This worthless government better be afraid of its citizens.

Arkansas has passed many bills and signed into law benefiting CC'ers. Many locations that were prohibited to carry, are now cleared to carry.

Don't forget, SS is paid by the working people and their employers. The government just takes it and raids it and then they call it entitlements because we want it back when we get old. As a self employed person for over 36 years, I had to pay double, as I had to match what would be my contribution as if I had an employer paying half. Government contributes nothing in money to SS.
I started taking my SS a few years ago and there was a locked door to the offices and a guard there.

Yes, the Great Society was Johnson's effort to outdo Kennedy's goals. But that wasn't all. Initially SS was raided to create Medicare. Later a separate Medicare tax was created. Meanwhile the new SS taxes paid in by the baby boomers caused a spending frenzy in congress.

Back in the 1990's, the average new SS recipient got all his contributions back in five years, and the average ongoing recipient got his money back every three years. If you are under 55 and worked all your adult life, chances are you will never get your money back.. And that is thanks to your government representatives, who in the 1970's created a lucrative retirement plan for themselves, PLUS they received social security. Average retiring congressman in the 1990's received retirement benefits of over $100k per year. Newer congressmen not so great, as they have just a 403b plan, but the damage is done.

In the 1970's congress passed ERISA, because they recognized that corporations might do with employees' retirement accounts the same thing they were doing with SS. So a corporate exec who did what congress did, would go to prison.

And the hits just keep on coming.
