Mexico 'Invades' Texas: 33 Soldiers Cross Border in Humvees - ABC News
So whether they run off FBI agents conducting an investigation involving their citizens on OUR side of the border, shoot at border patrol officers on OUR side of the border or even take them prisoner (as happened in 2008 - Mexican army invades U.S., holds border cop at gunpoint), allow millions of their citizens to cross into the US illegally, or actually make armed incursions into the US, our government's response is the same: do nothing. You can bet that if a like number of armed Marines had been chasing a drug smuggler and "inadvertently" crossed into Mexico, they would be raising all sorts of cain at the UN and anywhere else they could find a listening ear to bemoan the violation of their national sovereignty.
But not us.
We let Egyptians attack our embassy and reward them with billions in aid in violation of our own rules, we let the Libyans kill our ambassador and then claim that it wasn't premeditated, and now we let Mexico invade Texas and send the offending soldiers right back home. But we DID report Arizona to the UN for possible future violations of international law that never happened.
Makes you proud to live in a country that defends its sovereignty, doesn't it.
"More than 30 soldiers in the Mexican Army crossed the border into Texas in Humvees on Tuesday before being processed and allowed to return to Mexico.
According to Customs and Border Patrol spokesman Rick Pauza, the accidental invasion occurred when 33 soldiers in four Humvees started crossing a bridge across the Rio Grande at Donna, Texas, and then realized they couldn't turn their vehicles around without entering the U.S.
A local newspaper, the Monitor of McAllen, Texas, reported that the Mexicans were chasing a resident of South Texas when they drove onto the bridge."
