Armed Guards Good for David Gregory's Kids' School, Not for the Rest of Us

After the NRA's Wayne LaPierre spoke on Friday calling for armed guards and trained teachers in every school -- and offering the NRA's services to make it happen -- NBC's David Gregory went apoplectic.

On Meet The Press on Dec. 23, he mocked the assertion that armed guards should be placed in schools. He did this by accusing LaPierre of turning a blind eye to Gregory's belief that guns are part of the problem rather than the solution.

Gregory's kids, however, go to school at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., a school that is not only looking to hire a new police officer, but which also has 11 security personnel already on staff, some of whom are police officers.

Yet even though Gregory sends his kids to a school were they benefit from armed guards, here's what he said to Wayne LaPierre:

But you would conceded that as good of an idea as you think [armed guards at schools] is, it may not work. Because there have been cases where armed guards have not prevented this kind of massacre, this kind of carnage. I want you would concede that point, wouldn't you?

Note to David Gregory: The point we would like you to concede is one regarding the duplicity of arguing against armed guards for the children of everyday Americans, while children of NBC News anchors enjoy the safety security personnel with guns provide in their schools.

Isn't he also the one illegally possessing a 30 round magazine in violation of DC laws?

Hypocrite^2

The same rules & laws must apply to ALL Congress members, State Governors & Legislators, Press Corps and their families, along with the retired members mentioned, as they would impose on the unwashed masses- us.

The most vocal gun grabbers and gun grabbing Congress-weasels have themselves and families surrounded by platoons of armed guards. They must be compelled to live by the same rules they would impose on the masses, otherwise they will always come up with pretexts to limit our rights to self protection.

Here's a peer reviewed 'mainstream news article: "TRENDING: Washington D.C. police investigating whether NBC moderator violated law" (Dec. 25, 2012), CNN Blogs Web site: TRENDING: Washington D.C. police investigating whether NBC moderator violated law ? CNN Political Ticker - CNN.com Blogs

No, no, no Rat. You have it wrong. It is those "elitists" (?) who require the armed guards for THEIR persons and families. After all, who would want to harm we "common folks?" Don't forget, we have a uniformed constabulary which can respond to our emergencies within 30 minutes or so. Gee, what else could you want?

Don't expect the ruling elites to let hypocrisy get in the way of their agenda. Who in the media would ever call him on it?

David Gregory Under Police Investigation Over Gun Magazine On 'Meet The Press'

UPDATE: NBC News had requested and was denied permission to use a high capacity magazine on "Meet the Press." Legal Insurrection's William A. Jacobson looked into an email allegedly from the Metropolitan Police Department which said that the network contacted the police before the segment. The MPD's Aziz Alali confirmed it, telling Jacobson:

"NBC contacted the Metropolitan Police Department inquiring if they could utilize a high capacity magazine for this segment. NBC was informed that that possession of a high capacity magazine is not permissible and the request was denied."

EARLIER: David Gregory is being investigated by police over the gun magazine that he showed on Sunday's "Meet the Press."

Gregory held up what appeared to be a 30-round gun magazine during his contentious interview with the NRA's Wayne LaPierre. He was asking LaPierre whether fewer victims would have died in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School if the gunman had not had access to so many bullets.

Araz Alali, police officer and spokesman, confirmed to Politico on Tuesday that the Metropolitan Police Department is looking into “The 'Meet the Press,' David Gregory incident.” "There are D.C. code violations, D.C. code restrictions on guns, ammunition. We are investigating this matter. Beyond the scope of that, I can’t comment any further," he said.

The code in question says, “No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm," and has been mentioned by numerous conservatives making the argument against Gregory.

CORRECTION: The headline has been updated to say that Gregory was holding a gun magazine, not a clip, on "Meet the Press."

Just heard a lawyer on CNN answer the question, Did David Gregory violate the law?
His answer "Ah comeon its Christmas" then 15 minutes of excuses.
Obviously another one of dem conservative lawyers.

Rahm's Kids' School Protected by Armed On-Duty Police

Breitbart News has confirmed that The University of Chicago Laboratory School, where Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel sends his children, is protected by an armed, on-duty police officer.

University of Chicago Police public information personnel informed Breitbart News that there is at least one armed officer on duty a the school everyday and has been for “several years.”

Emanuel blasted NRA spokesman Wayne LaPierre after he proposed adding armed officers to schools across the country last week in response to the elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut.

A written statement from Mayor Emanuel said:

It’s outrageous and unsettling that the NRA would choose to address gun violence not by taking assault weapons off our streets, but by adding more guns to our schools… That is not the right answer for our society, our schools and most importantly our children.

People across this country, from small towns to big cities, are united and ready to pass common-sense gun control legislation. The time has come for the NRA to get on board or get out of the way.

Given his staunch opposition to the suggestions made by the NRA to protect America’s children, will Mayor Emanuel now take the lead on ending the security procedures in place at his own children’s school?

Nah, He will chop off another finger though. What a Richard Crania.

BHO's kids would have the same protection in any school setting. Their protection is based on him being the President and Commander in Chief. The Secret Service is not protecting anybody but his kids directly, though any attack to the school would be considered by the SS as an attempt to get them.

The school security unit is there to protect the rest of the elitest's kids.

That is correct, but The Sidwell Friends School does normally have armed security whether or not POTUS' kids go there. It is a favored school by the rich & powerful in the DC area.

The base questions still beg an answer- 1. Why are we compelled to send our kids into formal kill zones while others can have their kids protected? and 2. What was the final DC Police finding on Gregory's violating DC Law by "...Possession of a high capacity magazine" and associatd charges?

How many of the folks reading this thread have asked their local news & talk radio about this? How many of you have emailed the DC District Attorney asking for a answer? This issue could become a starting point to force accountabilty into the open.

The point is, even without his children being provided protection by the SS (whose numbers, BTW, were not included in the count of armed officers already on duty at that school), that school is ALWAYS protected by 11 armed guards (they are reportedly looking for yet another armed guard). The children of the social and political elite can send their children to schools protected by MULTIPLE armed guards, but the idea that OUR children should receive armed protection is something to be ridiculed.
