A Utah homeowner chased a burglar from his house and held him at gunpoint until police arrived — all without wearing a shred of clothing.

It was shortly before 5 a.m. Thursday morning when Eric Martin awoke to someone in his St. George home where he, his girlfriend and an 8-year-old son were sleeping.

Martin told Utah’s KSL-TV he grabbed his handgun and leaped out of bed — completely naked.

“I’m in bed sleeping, I get up, I retrieve my sidearm, I chase him out the front door. I’ve got him pinned on the ground. It’s 4:55 in the morning and I don’t have a stitch of clothing on,” Martin told the station. “I’m basically telling him at this point, ‘Stay on the ground, don’t move, because if you do move, I will shoot you.’”

Police said the suspect is 30-year-old Clinton Keller, and that he’d been through the kitchen and other parts of the home, KUTV-TV reported. Police said Keller tripped outside with a duffel bag full of items when Martin caught up with him.

I like the part about explaining to the BG what he's covered with. As an LEO back in the 60s I was taught one way to maintain control and compliance when holding someone at gunpoint was to act a bit crazy....so the BG believed you were crazy enough to shoot him....being naked is probably a good way to accomplish that.

Was just over in St. George last weekend...seemed like such a peaceful city....

Sleeping naked this time of year? Woooh, I'll bet he was cold standing there.

But heck, he got the job done, and without a shot fired. Good deal.

I do wonder how the thief got in. Hope he locks his doors... might have given him a minute to put on some socks anyway. I just HATE when my feet get cold.

Several years ago ran off a guy breaking into my truck with my shotgun (also Naked) best part is I was turning to go back in, a police car driving by stopped rolled down window and ask what I was doing. Long story short, the best of the deal was the officer driving telling the other officer and I quote "You are never really Naked with a shotgun"
