Well except our wonderful Republican house leader Davy Carter let the open carry bill die in committee without a fight. What a wimp. He will NOT get my support in the next cycle I promise.

Heard he said he doesn't want AR to return to the days of the old west with everyone going around with a gun on their hip! What a jerk!
It should be about what "we the people" want, not what he wants!

Yep That's what he said all right. It's really a shame because he is from the district I live in and I know that is not the general consensus in our city.

Did you hear that the Police Assoc. doesn't want OC because they wouldn't be able to tell the BG's from the GG's. Now,...how does he tell now? X-ray vision? And we have such a problem with the BG's OCing now, right?

That is exactly the issue. The only bad guys are the ones actually committing a crime. Just carrying does not make you a bad guy. To me it seems to be easy to tell the difference. They can't pursue their agenda without stereotyping all people carrying as being bad. That is the only way any of those concepts would make sense.

When I was a cop ((in two different states) we were taught that if we roll up on a scene you disarm everyone until it's clear who the BG is. Those states were NC & KS. You just don't take someone's word that he is the GG without finding out exactly what happened. They might both be BG's.

The post was about open carry passing in AR. The Police Assoc. didn't want it to pass because they said it was too hard to tell who was the BG. 44 other states have OC and don't have a problem with people OC'ing on a daily basis. When the police roll up on a crime, I have no problem with disarming people until it's sorted out. But law abiding citizens OC'ing on the streets shouldn't be a problem seeing as 44 other states do it daily.

Here in Nevada it's legal to OC not a problem, we don't have mass shooting! I prefer to CC, but I have no problem with anyone choosing to OC, it should be the chose of the individual
