State Representative Justin Harris (R-81) has introduced House Bill 1503, which would protect lawful firearm retailers from illegal gun sting operations such as those orchestrated by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Anti-gun extremist Bloomberg has sent hired agents into other states to attempt illegal firearm purchases in an effort to blame federally licensed firearm retailers for gun crime in New York City and around the country. HB 1503 has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee and has been placed on its calendar. Please contact members of this committee and urge them to support HB 1503.

Also, state Representative Charlotte Vining Douglas (R-75) has introduced House Bill 1819, an important reform to the Governor's Emergency Powers. HB 1819 would remove the ability of any Arkansas Governor to impose restrictions on the transfer or transportation of lawfully possessed firearms during a declared State of Emergency. This bill has been referred to the House State Agencies & Governmental Affairs Committee. Please contact members of this committee and urge them to support HB 1819.

Finally, state Senator Jason Rapert (R-35) has introduced Senate Bill 858, which would establish that Arkansas recognize any valid Right-to-Carry permit issued by another state. This important reform would replace the current conditional reciprocity standard.SB 858 has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee, so please contact members of that committee and urge them to support SB 858.

Please contact your State Reps and Senators.
