+1 on that. Furthermore, they credit Washington D.C.'s "low" late 1990s murder rate of 69.3 homicides per 100,000 residents on good control, and in fact try to justify even more gun control on exactly those grounds.
Well, this was the Democratic HQ so the most lethal thing that anyone had was probably a letter opener. If someone there had been armed, they may have been able to save Bill Gwatney's life before the gunman even started firing.
