Are people really this stupid??

Do people really truly believe they will stop with the banning of AR style weapons? When handgun shootings spike, they will be next, then bolt action rifles.

Yet the people we pay to protect our rights are saying and doing nothing. Where the Hell is the NRA?? I see Gun owners of America and every other gun rights group taking the offensive and speaking out.

Then you have the news reporters who moved to the USA, and they are on CNN running their mouths about how things are done in their country's Britain etc...

Next on the block will be "Assault Shotguns, and Assault hunting/ long range bolt action rifles.

I'll never understand the mindset that says because of the actions of a few, we must punish the public as a whole..

The mindset of the anti-gun, ban AR rifles people amounts to nothing more than "guilt by association", which is punishing someone for having the knowleddge of the illegal act of another individual. Well, sorry, folks, I had no idea that some fruitcake was going to kill his mother, load up, and go kill 20 children and six adults in an elementary school, as did anyone else! I agree that law abiding legal firearms owners should not be punished for the action of some mentally deranged individual.
I really can't see any law(s) that punish legal gun owners for the actions of a few menatlly demented individuals ever making it without a lenghty challenge and fight in the courts. But then again, the cards are stacked against us there too.

Yes, it seems that people are really that stupid. Last night our illustrious governor and 2016 presidential hopeful, Mario Cuomo, called for bans on any magazines holding over "7" rounds. Pick a number, toss it out, and maybe it will get some traction. This mornings news even put on a basketball coach from Ohio, so he could rant about gun control. And he is qualified in what capacity? He is certainly entitled to his opinion, but where is the counter balance, where is the gun owners voice?

Yes people are really that stupid. If you value your freedoms, be prepared to defend it against all enemies, foreign and domestic.

Yes people are stupid. Look who we have for a president, elected two times. Or was it ballot stuffing?

Should we really be this worried? I mean, they put Joe Biden in charge of this. This is the same guy that was in charge of finding waste, fraud or abuse with the Stimulus bill...and didn't find any.

In all seriousness, no. They won't stop with AR's, and we need to stand our ground on that. I think we should be prepared that we're going to be forced to give up something, and steer it to something small that we can live with so it doesn't look like we're totally intractable nutjobs who want babies to die, which could give them enough pubic sympathy to push something unacceptable. That very well may happen if all we do is repeat the mantra about how it's our rights, and screw them, and the rest of the hardline rhetoric that many people in our community are justly famous for.

I feel pretty certain that they're going to push something through. I don't know what it is, but it's going to happen. There are going to be enough republicans in the house that cave because they don't want to look like they're unsympathetic, and they have a reelection campaign coming up.

The political leaders in the Blue States are that stupid. The people that live in the megatropolisis's of the Blue States are that stupid.
Then when you hear Obama and the Anti pundits say "The VAST MAJORITY of gun owners agree that .....................................
I have heard Bloomberg, Obama and Cumo all say it.
They believe that yes the american people are that stupid and will believe anything as long as it is repeated enough.

Look at the people that are pushing all of this. They live work and play in NYC, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington DC and of course the Left Coast.
Most live in gated community's or high rise apartments with 24 7 security. In their world there is no problem or need to defend your self or your family.

America's heartland is totally ignored and are part of the unwashed masses holding on to their Bibles and guns.

So lets call 12,672 people on the phone.
All in Northern Eastern Seaboard Cities and California 902 zip codes.
HI we are conducting a poll on the Presidents Gun Policy.
Will you participate. (Yes)
Are you a gun owner? (Thinks for a while, Ahhh why yes, yes I am.)
Do you think the public should be allowed to own Military Assault Weapons, like the ones used in war? (Why No, no I don't)

Thank you very much. Have a nice day.

And the vast majority of actual gun owners will sit idly by watching with horror and disgust as our rights are trampled on for the alleged good of the collective. So I guess that you could even say that actual gun owners are kinda stupid also.

The Progressives have pulled out all the stops on this one because they think the timing has never been better for the knock out punch. They smell blood in the water.
Yet Wal-Mart and others are having record breaking sales.
Time has come for Gun Owner to RISE ABOVE and make your voice heard.

If standing my ground and defending the rights that have always kept us from being under totalitarian control makes me a "nutjob", then lock me up and throw away the key! IMO, we should not give an inch! Once you start down that road there will be no turning back. We do not need more laws, we need more common sense. Taking away the right(s) to own certain guns will be just as effective as passing a law that requires mentally ill people to turn themselves in to authorities for treatment. Neither law would be effective because you can't legislate away mental illness or evil.
A mentally ill person that has ill intent to hurt others will find a way. If one or much such persons decide to walk into a school or church, lock the door and then pour 5 gallons of gas out on the floor and light a match and kill everyone are they going to ban gasoline?
Giving in now on any kind of forfeiture of rights just plays directly into the hands of a govt. that is quickly turning at least to socialism if not outright communism. The govt. knows that outright stripping of 2nd Amendment rights would cause a revolution and that's the last thing they want. But taking away a few rights here and there over time will get them where they want to be. IMO, they're just waiting until all of the WWII vets and most of the Viet Nam vets have died off to lower the hammer on us because they fear those who have the experience and sense to stand their ground. If they just wait a few more years then the dumbed down and pacified generations will submit without a fight; or at least minimal resistance.

This is going to be a WAR between common sense and idiocy! Mr. Morgan is just in his own "little" world and we humans are just in the way! No matter how much proof you show anti gun folks the more they say it can't be true! I had an English teacher in college that wanted a term paper. I did mine on Conceal Carry. I did research on top of research, on how it has effectively reduced crime in stores, against people, car jackings and how many women are carrying. It was amazing how crime has dropped, and how more women were now shooting and buying hand guns to get CC licenses. The teach ,whom I later found out was strictly against guns, gave me an A- but wrote on it, " You almost convinced me guns can help people"! I sent her a letter back stating, I wasn't trying to convince anyone but facts can't be ignored. Well, in this day and age, "FACTS" are being ignored!

Does anyone really think anything close to common sense would come out of Washington DC? The politicians, main stream media and anti-gun special interest all sleep in the same bed. We have all been frogs in a slowly heated pot for years. Freedoms have been slowly stripped away for years to protect the environment, the poor, the sick , the children, the old, you name it. We all rolled and accepted it, after all it's just a little thing and it really doesn't effect me. This tactic works and has been working for these left wing progressive liberals. Why would they change their battle plan when it's been so successful over the years?

Didn't Einstein say something to the effect that the universe may not be infinite, but human stupidity is?

On online message forums, the almost universal rule is that anybody who CLAIMS to believe that is an AHSA fifth columnist hoping to deceive the ignorant and gullible. The funny thing is, they NEVER get anywhere, but they keep coming back...

Scott Brown becomes first Republican to back federal assault weapons ban | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

Scott Brown of Massachusetts on Wednesday became the first sitting Republican senator to voice support for a federal assault weapons ban after the Newtown, Conn., shootings.

Brown failed to win re-election in November, however, and won’t be in Congress to vote on gun legislation.

“As a state legislator in Massachusetts, I supported an assault weapons ban thinking other states would follow suit. But unfortunately they have not and innocent people are being killed,” Brown told Massachusetts paper the Republican on Wednesday. “As a result, I support a federal assault weapons ban, perhaps like the legislation we have in Massachusetts."

Brown is the first sitting Republican senator to offer support for a new federal ban—something Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., has pledged to introduce in January and something the White House has indicated will have the president’s support.

Several pro-gun-rights Democratic lawmakers, including West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin—who spoke with President Barack Obama to discuss the issue on Tuesday—Virginia Sen. Mark Warner and Rep. Joe Donnelly of Indiana have either expressed concern over the availability of assault weapons or left the door open to a discussion.

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity...and I'm not sure about the former. - Einstein

I would like to demand the Arrest of Eric Holder and the BATF for the illegal transport/staw purchase and shippment of some 5,000 guns to know criminals. Until that happens I will stay well armed as I have to be able to protect myself against criminals, this of course makes the BATF, President and Holder criminals and as such I will not surrender my firearms to anyone.

Yes they are that stupid

If they pass an "Assault Weapons Ban" and make the AR styled rifle illegal how long until our hunting guns become "Sniper Rifles" and need to be banned?

Magazines over 10 rounds? Those are already up for debate and could make many modern handguns illegal.

Someone said we should "give them a little"....BULL! If we give them an inch they will take a mile and one day we could wake up only being allowed to own single shot weapons.

Trust me, people are stupid beyond most people's capacity to appreciate it. After all, they elected obama twice, didn't they?

I am sorry to say that if you voted to reelect the current administration you should have realized that control of the US citizens was on his agenda not just guns but your right to think and make decisions for yourself. God help us all

! IMO, we should not give an inch! Once you start down that road there will be no turning back.

Yeah, but historically, that's flat out not true. Gun laws have relaxed in a big way over the last 2 decades. We went from 10 shall issue concealed carry states in '86 to 39 and 4 states with open carry to 33 states that allow it with 4 of them now with constitutional carry. We got the assault weapons ban to expire.

You draw lines in the sand after the sheople got the crap scared out of them, and their going to blame us as nutjobs and ban things just to spite us.

They don't care what the statistics are. You can argue them until your blue in the face, and I have. They don't share what you think is common sense because to them it's common sense that you don't "need" a gun, so why would you need an "assault weapon?" They don't care that a crazy person will find another way to kill people because the believe that he'll choose a gun first, and he'll kill more people with it than he will with anything else.

They're afraid and feel cornered. There's very few things more dangerous than a cornered, scared animal.

So we can either steer the narrative with a loss leader that's a nice to have, or we can let the narrative steer us and lose a must have. Because there IS going to be something, and more likely several somethings, taken away. I'd rather face that reality and go "look...shiny!" and distract them to take something I could live without if forced to, than have them focus in and take something I can't. I can live with a 15 round magazine instead of a 30 round magazines. I can reload fast enough that it's not going to make much difference. I can live with getting a background check to get a rifle. I'm already getting one when I get a handgun. It's a 15 minute inconvenience in my day.

What I can't live with is not being able to buy a semi-auto rifle of any kind because that's what they really want to take away.
