Are LEOs are told you have a concealed carry permit when they run your license?

In NC my drivers license record indicates I have a CHP. My vehicle tag has no such record, but it is common that dispatchers run the tag and match the registered owner to the drivers info, which will reflect the existence of a CHP.

Of course NC is a must notify state, but I wonder how that plays out if a family member without a carry permit is driving the vehicle.

I've never understood this line of questioning. Your firearm has nothing to do with the traffic stop unless you are in an overbearing state that has so trampled on your rights that you are forced to tell the officer about the legal possessions that are on you in your car without a warrant. The traffic stop is about one thing, whatever traffic violation you have committed.

If the conversation between you and the officer goes in any other direction, you have the right to remain silent and you have right against self-incrimination. Shut up or say, I do not answer questions without my lawyer.

A police officer can ask you anything. You do not need to answer him. Your legal firearm shouldn't even be associated with the traffic stop.

And sometimes it's about nothing whatsoever that you did to be forced into an involuntary contact with cops, like at a DUI check-point, or one of those "border" checkpoints that might be 80 or 100 miles away from the border, or filming in or near a train station or federal building. The list is extensive of ways to be forced into a contact for nothing illegal that you actually did, and to think that a citizen would bring their armed status into the contact after the cop(s) made it clear that your rights are the last thing on his mind in those types of situations, is nothing short of asinine. It's asinine even if you were speeding or whatever, but doubled-down asininity in those kinds of situations.

And if the stop was about firearms, I guarantee the officers not going to walk up to the window with his ticket book out. Gun drawn and verbal orders, the last thing he will want to hear is you have a permit during that situation.
